Kyle Busch shared his disappointment with the outcome of the Kansas race on his X account, taking responsibility for not seizing the opportunity to win. In his post, he commended his #8 team at Richard Childress Racing for their excellent work on the car but acknowledged that he should have been able to win the race.

Alongside a few images from the race, he posted on X, stating:

"Shoulda had that one, just not the way it used to be. Hate it for my guys, they deserved this one! Everyone at ECR & RCR did a phenomenal job this weekend."

At Kansas, with just 32 laps remaining and leading the pack, Kyle Busch was on the verge of a win as he approached NASCAR Cup Series playoff contender Chase Briscoe through Turn 2. Exiting the corner, Busch opted for the high lane beside #14—who was 26th and fighting to stay on the lead lap—but [Busch] lost control, hit the wall, and spun down the backstretch.

Despite the crash, Kyle Busch remained in the top 10 during the ensuing caution but was unable to regain the lead. Ultimately, the #8 RCR driver finished in P19 place. Meanwhile, Chase Briscoe, who had previously snatched the win from Kyle Busch in the last race of the regular season at Darlington, finished P24 at Kansas.

Kyle Busch's winless streak extended to 51 races following the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas. Throughout the regular season, Busch had several opportunities to secure a victory, notably at the second race in Atlanta and post-NASCAR Olympic break at Michigan, Daytona, and Darlington, but he failed to finish first.

"I am numb," Kyle Busch remarked following another disheartening finish

For 26 laps during the Hollywood Casino 400, it appeared Kyle Busch might continue his two-decade streak of securing at least one win each year. However, his nineteenth-place finish left him visibly disheartened. In his post-race interview, the #8 Richard Childress Racing driver shared his frustrations [via Motorsport]:

"Busted my b*tt. I hate it for my guys and everybody at RCR and ECR. They deserved to get the win today. We hung underneath the #1 car there for 15 laps trying to pass him, finally passed him, and could get away from him a little bit, would catch a lap car, would back up a little bit, and the gap just kept doing that. I guess I just got in too big a hurry. [..] I’m numb. I don’t know what to do"

Busch is set to compete next at the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, where his record includes an average finish of 20.2 across 38 starts. One of his two victories on this track includes a recent win in the Next Gen era in April 2023.
