After his triumph at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Kyle Larson and his wife Katelyn are cherishing some downtime during NASCAR's two-week break. Larson also celebrated his wife's 29th birthday during the break.

Larson charged through the field to win his maiden Brickyard 400, celebrating the victory by kissing the bricks with his wife and his #5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy team. Katelyn also pulled off her signature trait, by shotgunning a beer on the yard of bricks.

A week later, Kyle Larson took to Instagram to post a birthday tribute for his wife, who turned 29 on June 25. The post featured a picture of her with a wine glass and a snapshot of her recent beer shotgun celebration at the Brickyard, captioned: Happy 29th Birthday! @mrs_katelynlarson.

Katelyn Larson commented on the post, jokingly suggesting that her husband's birthday tribute portrayed her as an alcoholic, despite having been sober for six months. She concluded by saying that all was well. Her comment read:

"Haven’t had a drop to drink in almost 6 months. Now according to my 29th birthday post, I’m an alcoholic. Life is good. 😜🤙🏻,Thank you for the bday wishes🥰"

Kyle Larson on his kids missing the victory celebrations at the Brickyard

The 2021 NASCAR Cup champion, Kyle Larson, didn't get to celebrate his crown jewel victory with his kids, as they weren't in attendance for the race weekend. Instead, he celebrated with them virtually, FaceTiming them in victory lane.

Larson opened up about his kids—Owen, Audrey, and Cooper—missing out on being part of one of the most significant victories of his career. He hopes to replicate his success at the famed 2.5-mile oval to celebrate with his kids in the future.

"That's the first time I've gotten to FaceTime my kids after a win. Obviously, I wish they would have been here today. You just never know how things are going to play out. Like if I'd have known I was going to win today, I would have told them to ride over from Eldora." he said in the press conference (via SpeedwayDigest.com)
"I wish they could be here, but it was still special to get to FaceTime them in Victory Lane. Katelyn even had them on FaceTime while we kissed the bricks the first time. They kind of got to live it virtually. Hopefully, down the road, I'll get the chance to win here again and have them here. It would be awesome." he added.

Kyle Larson will return to action after the two-week break, with the NASCAR returning to Richmond Raceway on August 11.
