Late in the race at Nashville, Kyle Larson misjudged a corner and got into the back of Ross Chastain, which ended up spinning him. This incident led a fan to ask on the "Door Bumper Clear" podcast whether there are any other great drivers who make mistakes as much as Kyle Larson.
Speaking about this, Freddie Kraft, Bubba Wallace's spotter, claimed that there's one other driver who fits this description other than Larson. While revealing the driver to be Christopher Bell, Kraft also praised the former, calling him one of the "nicest" and "talented drivers" out there.
Addressing the fan's question, Kraft claimed that Bell was also prone to making mistakes. The spotter added that for both Bell and Larson, "it happens more than it should," as he elaborated on his thoughts about Larson's late-race mistake.
"He was so focused on pushing Denny Hamlin down into turn 1 that he just got aero-tight, lost the nose, and kind of went up and clipped Ross [Chastain] and ruined his day. So yeah, those are the two that are just all out, all the time," Kraft said [at 40:08].
Speaking on the same subject, Brad Keselowski's spotter, TJ Majors, shed light on how certain drivers are strong in certain areas of racing. He said some drivers are good at running fast laps, while others can drive in the long run when tires begin to deteriorate.
He backed his opinion by citing Matt Kenseth's situation, who, on the way to his championship in 2003, had an average qualifying position in the mid-20s, but won several races despite that. Majors claimed Kenseth wasn't good at qualifying but was "a great race driver" and put races together that utilized his strengths.
"That's how they (Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell) race. That's just how those guys are... Those guys, they definitely make a lot of mistakes but they're definitely exciting, they're super fast, they're on the edge, it's what makes racing exciting," Majors added.
Denny Hamlin believes Kyle Larson was "out of control" in Ross Chastain wreck
Speaking on the "Actions Detrimental" podcast after the race at Nashville, Denny Hamlin claimed Kyle Larson was "out of control" when he got into the back of the #1. Hamlin said that Larson should've known that if he was going to wreck the #11, he'd have inevitably made contact with Chastain as well, considering they were racing side by side.
Hamlin believed that Larson felt it was okay to "just crashing whoever was in front of him." But Kyle Larson claimed that he was just trying to get Hamlin "washed off the bottom" so he could get some clean air and get the lead.
So he decided to run in with him and ended up getting into the back of Ross Chastain, which eventually caused the crash.
