NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle's wife, Samantha Busch recently explained how Brexton was frustrated after a race. Kyle and Samantha's son Brexton made his karting debut at Trackhouse Motorplex. However, the nine-year-old had a rough time finishing last in his first race.
Samantha, who is very active on social media, shared her thoughts about his experience and called it a valuable learning moment.
"Back out here at the track again today. So, I will definitely say yesterday was quite a learning experience for Brexton. He left the track quite frustrated but we tried to tell him like, he just started doing this and it was his first race," Samantha said on her Instagram story.
Brexton is a third-generation driver and has been racing since he was five. He's been successful in dirt racing but karting is a new challenge for him.
"And I think his mentality is just that he needs to go out there and always finish like top-5 and he started last and finished last. But we told him that you cut off your time every single time you went on the track and that's all you really need to be doing when you first start. So, hopefully today goes a little bit better," she added.
Brexton will race alongside his two-time Cup Series champion dad, Kyle Busch at the Chili Bowl Nationals next year.
Samanta Busch shares Brexton's "Day two" of karting experience
Samantha Busch also shared a picture from the second day at the karting racing facility, Trackhouse Motorplex in Mooresville.
Brexton has about four years of racing experience at dirt tracks like Millbridge and Mountain Creek Speedways. In 2021, he won 9 races at six different dirt tracks in four states and earned his first championship in the Saturday Beginner Box Stock Division.
Brexton has won over 30 times in Outlaw Karts, Bandoleros, and Restricted Micros and Kyle Busch has already set a plan to help Brexton reach NASCAR.
"He’ll probably also do some Late Model Stock stuff and some Super Late Models at 14. I want to keep him on the dirt and asphalt realm. There’s a road racing series, Trans Am TA2, and he’ll probably get into some of that at 14… And then by 16, he’ll be ready for some Trucks,” Busch said.
Moreover, Brexton won two championships, the Millbridge Beginner Box and Mountain Creek Beginner Box in 2022. He also got the Tuesday night Millbridge championship last year.
