Kyle Larson discussed the incident involving him that led to Kyle Busch's early exit during the third overtime restart at the Ally 400 race at Nashville Superspeedway on Sunday. Larson, whose car ran out of fuel at the third restart, mentioned that he received no warning from his fuel pressure alarm or any other indicator on his dashboard. He expressed regret, especially since Busch, needing points, couldn't finish the race because of him.

Larson had a strong start, lining up fourth on the grid. He maintained his position in Stage 1 and improved to third in Stage 2. Despite the fuel issue during the third restart, he managed to secure a top-10 finish, placing eighth. Kyle Busch, starting further back at 27th, moved up slightly to 26th by the end of Stage 1 and 24th in Stage 2.

However, he was making considerable headway in the final laps, running fourth when Kyle Larson’s #5 Chevy ran dry. The incident caused a bottleneck, and Busch, caught right behind Larson, ended up spinning out at the start-finish line.

Talking about the same in his post-race interview, Kyle Larson said (via journalist Bob Pockrass' X):

"Yeah, hate that for Kyle. I had no warning. Obviously, we knew we really close some fuel was going to be a stretch to make it, but... I had no low fuel pressure alarm or anything on my dash so it was a bit Surprising to me when I went to the throttle it just never went. [...] Really, really bummed for him and all that because he needs the points."

Kyle Busch expresses disappointment but receives appreciation from spectators

The Ally 400 proved to be another rough one for Kyle Busch. In the last five races, he's faced DNFs in four, including crashes and mechanical failures at Gateway and Iowa, weather troubles in New Hampshire, and most recently, Kyle Larson's fuel issue in Nashville. Busch had previously shown a bit of optimism about his performance, [via Bob Pockrass on X]:

"We were running better than we probably should have been at Gateway; we got crashed. We were running better than we should have been at Iowa and we had a part failure"

However, the latest incident in Nashville seemed to break his spirit. Frustrated with the ongoing troubles with the RCR #8 car, especially its lack of speed, Busch vented over his radio: [via Newsweek.com]

"This is complete garbage."

According to Kevin Harvick as well, Kyle Busch's car has been consistently underperforming, lacking both speed and handling, which has resulted in a string of disappointing outings for the two-time Cup Series Champion. Harvick pointed out: [via NASCAR on Fox]

"The problem with Kyle Busch’s situation right now is that they just don’t have any speed in their car for the most part."

Despite the technical setbacks, the crowd at the race showed their support for Kyle Busch. Fans in the stands delivered a hearty round of applause and cheers for him, and in response, Busch gratefully bowed down to them, acknowledging their support.
