NASCAR driver Hailie Deegan's brother Hudson had a cute moment with a girl at a local ice rink, causing the Deegan sibling's mom, Marissa Deegan, to have a funny reaction to the incident. The event was captured and posted on the Deegans' YouTube channel earlier today. The former NASCAR Xfinity Series driver enjoyed the whole situation but didn't comment on it.
The vlog, posted on the channel Deegans Unleashed, was about the family's Christmas holiday ice skating outing at the Birkdale Village in North Carolina. In the video, Hudson Deegan, who is the youngest in the Deegan family, was seen talking to a girl and getting her contact information on the ice rink. After he succeeds, he skates over to his family to show off his accomplishment, causing his mom to say:
"He won't have a phone after tomorrow" [5:18 - 5:20]
The video also featured the middle sibling, Haiden Deegan, who is also in the world of motorsports and participates in motocross competitions just like their father, Brian Deegan.
Hailie Deegan joined the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2021, driving the #1 truck for David Gilliland Racing, with whom she spent the next two seasons. In October 2023, it was announced that she would be joining the Xfinity Series full-time in the 2024 season driving AM Racing's #15 Ford.
AM Racing and Deegan split ways after 17 races into the Xfinity season this past year. Speaking about the end of her time with the North Carolina-based team in July, Hailie said (via NASCAR.com):
“Beginning this season, I had a lot of excitement and hope in taking my next step in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. It’s something I’ve been working towards for years and always dreamt about. I worked hard to prepare for this season after the team pursued me to drive their car. Unfortunately, it has not turned out the way that I expected. There are always several reasons within a race team as to why things do or do not work, but sadly our goals no longer align. With that being said, myself and AM Racing will be parting ways."
Over the 17 races she raced in the #15 car, Hailie Deegan had an average finish of 26.8, with Martinsville, Talladega, and Las Vegas being her only finishes that were higher than 20th.
Hailie Deegan moves away from NASCAR for 2025
The 23-year-old driver announced earlier this year that she would be moving away from NASCAR to compete in the Indy NXT for their 2025 season. She will be joining HMD Motorsports and driving their #38 car.
Speaking about joining the team and moving into a new competition arena, Deegan said (via Forbes):
“I have much to learn, but I am ready to go, the team brings a wealth of knowledge for me to pull from, and I look forward to soaking up as much of that as possible before my race debut next March in St. Petersburg.”
Hailie Deegan will race alongside team members Josh Pierson, Bryce Aron, Tommy Smith, and Caio Collet at HMD Motorsports once the season begins in Florida on March 2nd, 2025.
