Kyle Busch's son, Brexton Busch, has come a long way already in his racing career. At only 9 years of age, Brexton has already won the Saturday Millbridge Beginner Box championship, the Mountain Creek Beginner Box championship, and the Tuesday night Beginner Box Millbridge championship among other titles.
Speaking to Frontstretch, Busch mentioned how Brexton is "doing a great job" in racing and having fun while doing so. The #8 driver also highlighted Brexton's dislike for school. The RCR driver claimed his son "hates school".
Kyle Busch then went on to add that Brexton is "well matured" and doing a good job in different circumstances in life.
The interviewer mentioned how she saw Brexton, who was shy at first, do an interview recently and how well he was handling it, prompting her to ask if the 2-time Cup champion was teaching him in that regard.
"Well, of course. He's in the spotlight. He's getting interviewed a lot. He's always around a camera and stuff like that. It's been really good for him and obviously, he's grown up seeing me do a lot of it too," Busch said [at 00:50].
Kyle Busch's wife doesn't want Brexton to race in midgets
In December last year, Brexton Busch talked about the path he intends to take his career in, and the one form of dirt racing his mother, Samantha Busch, wants him to avoid.
“I’ll probably get into micros. Maybe midgets. My mom doesn’t want me to get into midgets though," Brexton told FloRacing.
This prompted the #8 Cup driver to add that while his wife wouldn't like their son to run in the midget class, he is still open to "give it a whirl" one day and see how it goes.
"We’ll see what we like doing throughout the micros," Busch added.
It's very possible that midgets or not, whatever path Brexton takes in his career, the road could potentially lead him toward NASCAR. While entry to NASCAR would've been easier for him before, there's still an option he has.
After the sale of his father's team, Kyle Busch Motorsports or KBM to Spire Motorsports last year, a direct entryway into NASCAR closed for Brexton. However, he has another option in hand.
The young Brexton Busch already has a 'contract option' to sign for his father's current team, Richard Childress Racing. When Busch's arrival at RCR was announced in September 2022, Richard Childress also handed his new driver's son a contract of his own to drive for RCR in the future.
Such an option should open up the NASCAR doors for Brexton Busch, who is proving to be a rising star in his own right.
