Famous NASCAR YouTuber Eric Estepp recently shared his thoughts on the uncertainty of Corey LaJoie running in the 2025 Cup Series season. The 33-year-old driver is without a Cup ride after an unconventional mid-season swap with Justin Haley in the No. 7 Spire Motorsports.

In a video uploaded by Estepp on his YouTube channel, the famed influencer discussed his likeness to the Charlotte, North Carolina native LaJoie and said:

"I hope Corey LaJoie ends up in at least a decently competitive situation. I like Corey LaJoie a ton. I think he's better than the reputation he earned throughout the 2024 season but I also understand that it's a performance-based business and sometimes it's about finding the right fit." Furthermore, Estepp emphasized how the Jeff Dickerson-owned Cup Series team's goals aren't aligned with LaJoie. Thus, filling the seat with 25-year-old Haley.

"I don't think Spire Motorsports really had a need for Corey LaJoie's skills with the investments they've made, the goals they now have for themselves. That was no longer the right fit," he added.

While the future is in limbo for LaJoie, Estepp was optimistic about a better future for the veteran Cup Series driver in the upcoming season.

"I'll be fine; I've got money in the bank": When Corey LaJoie opened up on the chances of having no ride for the 2025 season

Corey LaJoie has been a part of the NASCAR National Series for almost a decade and has competed in over 250 races in the Cup Series. However, he hasn't yet been successful in triumphing in the premier division, but he has been a part of the No. 7 Chevy for Spire Motorsports since the team started fielding entries.

While there hasn't been any news of his professional racing career this year, LaJoie on his Stacking Pennies podcast in August 2024 discussed life after NASCAR. He said:

"I'll be fine. I've got some investments going, I got some money in the bank, and if I got to coach t-ball, I'll coach t-ball. If I got to race on Sundays and keep making a living for me, my family, and keep showing up with people who have my back and want to go into battle with me each and every week, then that's what I'm going to do." As per the last reports, LaJoie was expected to drive the No. 51 Ford for Rick Ware Racing after the swap with former RWR driver Haley the previous season. However, in recent developments, renowned journalist Bob Pockrass shed some light on the slim chances of LaJoie bagging a ride with RWR.

On Jan 2, 2025, Pockrass on X wrote:

"Corey LaJoie is still working on his 2025 plans but not expected to be full time in the RWR No. 51 in 2025. Cody Ware appears to be the likely driver of that car."

This report by the Fox Sports journalist has pushed LaJoie's future to run on Sundays in chartered waters.
