Leah Pruett, who welcomed her first child last month with Tony Stewart, recently talked about being a new mom and her future comeback to racing.

The couple got married in 2021 and their son, Dominic James Stewart, was born on November 17, 2024. A 12-time Top Fuel National race winner, Pruett paused her racing career this year to devote more time to their son. In an interview with Behind the Catch Fence, she revealed that she is excited to return to NHRA someday but is focused on motherhood for now.

"As much as I can't wait to, at some point—whenever that is—get back in a dragster, it’s not 2025. I’m looking forward to that. I’m not letting that take any moment away from being with this baby," Pruett said [03:43 onwards].

She also reflected on her experience as a new mother.

"Literally, you know, his face is changing every day, and he’s growing every day. Our phones now have hundreds of photos on them and videos of just pure baby nothingness. I’m just making sure we capture it. I keep it right here, keep it in my heart, because he’s going to be walking, talking, and talking back to Tony sooner than we can imagine...I’m having the best time of my life," she added.

While Leah Pruett is on a break from racing, the three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion took her place in the NHRA Top Fuel division as the driver of the Top Fuel dragster at Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) for the 2024 season. He ended in ninth place overall and earned NHRA Rookie of the Year.

"Dom has for sure taken over my sleep schedule" - Leah Pruett on life as a new parent

Leah Pruett started racing in Top Fuel in 2013 with Dote Racing after competing in Pro Mod and Nostalgia Funny Car. After moving to TSR in 2009, she won her first career national event in 2016 and has finished in the top 10 since. Pruett also managed a career-best third-placed finish on the points table in 2023.

The drag racer also shared pictures of Don on Instagram and wrote about her life parenting her one-month-old.

"Life lately. Even though I haven’t posted much, Dom has for sure taken over my sleep schedule, and camera roll. He’s now over a month old, and has got all of his responsibilities down. Eat, sleep, toot, and look cute," Pruett wrote.

Leah Pruett also shared a picture of Don dressed in a "Best Gift Ever" red outfit and a new red wagon by Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage on her Instagram stories.

Meanwhile, Tony Stewart celebrated his team, Tony Stewart Racing's 25th season of full-time competition in auto racing this year. Stewart will compete in NHRA Top Fuel next season.
