"He's a great person, he has a great personality" - Kevin Harvick shares his thoughts on Bubba Wallace after $50,000 fine to the 23XI Racing driver

Kevin Harvick recently spoke about helping out Bubba Wallace with some advice following his run in with Alex Bowman at Chicago. Wallace was penalized by NASCAR with a $50,000 fine and ahead of the race at Pocono, he revealed the advice Harvick gave him.

And on the latest episode of Happy Hour podcast, Kevin Harvick addressed his act towards Wallace.

Harvick revealed that he ran into the 23XI Racing driver at the Legend Cars racing where Wallace was running in the Summer Shootout. The former NASCAR driver also shared his take on Wallace's personality.

"He takes so much heat on everything he does, good or bad. Bubba's a great person. When he's not in that pressure and listening to all the people chirp at him—whether it's on his team, or in the industry, or off the racetrack or on social media—I think he's a great person. If he would just be himself and not have to worry about everything else that's going on, people are going to love him no matter what he's done," Harvick said. [37:00]

The former SHR driver also claimed that he loved Wallace's interview ahead of Pocono. Harvick appreciated Wallace's outspokenness with what he liked and what he didn't like. Harvick said he has been in Wallace's place "a hundred times", and a driver puts himself at the discretion of NASCAR in such situations where it's up to them to react or not.

"You can't blame them, right? You can, but it's not going to do any good. But I just love the Bubba Wallace away from the racetrack and the type of person that he is. Because he's a great person, he has a great personality, he's fun. And I just hope that he just doesn't worry about trying to live up to what everybody else thinks he should be. Just go be you, do you, man, because you're a great guy," Harvick described.

Kevin Harvick further urged Bubba Wallace to be himself and not be defensive or angry. And even if he were to get angry, Harvick wanted Wallace to hold his opinion.

Kevin Harvick told Bubba Wallace to have a smile and accept his $50,000 fine

During a media interaction ahead of last Sunday's race at Pocono, Bubba Wallace revealed the words of advice he received from Kevin Harvick. As per Bob Pockrass, the #23 claimed he got his media training from Harvick.

After Wallace expressed his disappointment with the $50,000 fine, he revealed that Harvick told him to head to Pocono with a smile on his face and accept it.

"Might not agree with the penalty but I’m smiling about it. He also told me a lot of powerful things. Just show up and be the fun-loving guy that I am throughout the week," Wallace added.

With that said, it'll be interesting to see how much further Bubba Wallace can take Harvick's words into this season.

The 23XI Racing driver is currently fighting to book his spot in the playoffs, and having a measured and cool demeanor like he did at Pocono would go on to help his cause for this season.
