Trackhouse Racing owner Justin Marks has pondered the possibility of someday fielding an entry in the Indianapolis 500, the most prolific race in the NTT IndyCar Series. The NASCAR Cup Series owner said while it won't happen in 2025, it's something that's on his bucket list.

In an article via fanbuzz.com, Marks was quoted on the chances of Trackhouse Racing venturing outside of NASCAR and into the prestigious 500-mile event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Marks said he wants the opportunity to do so in the right way, adding that it would complete the "story" of the organization. He added:

"It's very high on my personal list, and then I've got to get sort of the business and commercial and partnerships and all that kind of worked out to figure out how to go, how to do it in a meaningful and competitive way. So I don't think that the Trackhouse story will ever be complete without us competing in the world's greatest open-wheel race."

However, Trackhouse Racing fans shouldn't get excited yet as Marks said it won't happen in 2025. Still, there have been talks with the organization about it possibly happening in the future, and they'll jump at the chance when the opportunity presents itself.

"I think when the time is right, we'll take a real hard look at it," Marks said. "I mean, obviously we won't be competing in the race in 2025, but there are discussions ongoing about how to make something like that happen."

Trackhouse Racing is set to expand to a three-car full-time Cup Series team in 2025. Shane van Gisbergen will join the organization in 2025, behind the wheel of the #88 car, alongside teammates Daniel Suarez in the #99 car and Ross Chastain in the #1 machine.

Trackhouse Racing won two races in 2024 with Suarez picking up a victory in the second race of the season at Atlanta, while Chastain notched a win in the playoff race at Kansas. Suarez finished 12th in the points standings after making the playoffs for the second time in his career, while Chastain failed to make the playoffs and finished 19th in the points standings.

Trackhouse Racing announced IndyCar star Hélio Castroneves will attempt to run the 2025 Daytona 500

Trackhouse Racing owner Justin Marks has never been afraid to bring drivers from other forms of motorsport into NASCAR. For next month's Daytona 500, Marks has brought on longtime NTT IndyCar Series veteran Hélio Castroneves to attempt the race.

The team announced via social media on Monday that Castroneves will attempt to make the event in the #91 car, more commonly known as "Project 91" for the organization.

"NEWS: Four-time #Indy500 winner @heliocastroneves will enter the DAYTONA 500! The @indycar legend will drive our No. 91 @wendys Chevrolet at @daytona next month," Trackhouse Racing wrote.

Castroneves is most notably a four-time winner of the Indianapolis 500, most recently winning it in 2021. Should he win the Daytona 500, he'll join racing legends A.J. Foyt and Mario Andretti as the only drivers in history to have won both the Indianapolis 500 and the Daytona 500.
