DGM Racing on Wednesday announced that it has signed Ryan Ellis as a full-time driver for the 2025 Xfinity Series season. Following his signature, Ellis opened up on his upcoming move, with his arrival bringing 15 sponsors on board already.
While Ellis is already an Xfinity Series driver with Alpha Prime Racing. Through this move, he will make his debut for his family-owned racing organization, DGM. Besides the Xfinity Series, the 34-year-old also competed in the Cup and Truck Series over the years.
Ellis' move to DGM was made possible after he had a conversation with Mario Gosselin, the team owner of DGM Racing. Ellis said that after a conversation with Gosselin, he was convinced about signing for the family-owned outfit.
Speaking about this, here is what he said:
“Chatting with Mario about his plans for the program in 2025 convinced me that joining DGM was something I couldn’t pass up. He’s a racer, and his enthusiasm was immediately contagious. I have so much respect for what the Gosselin family has built, and I hope that we can turn some heads together next year. I’ve seen just how high the potential is at DGM, and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
Gosselin, on the other hand, said he is excited to have Ellis on board.
"We are thrilled to welcome Ryan to our family and looking forward to advancing our Xfinity program together," Gosselin said. "Solidifying next year’s season this early on is huge for our small team. Having the resources this soon gives us the opportunity to upgrade some of our equipment and start preparing in a way we have been unable to in prior seasons, which I believe will result in our best on track performance.”
Ryan Ellis has six Cup Series race appearances under his belt. His last race in the series was in 2021 at the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas. He also ran 26 times in the Truck Series and his last race there was also in 2021.
