Retired NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. has brought a litany of guests onto his show "Dale Jr. Download" over the years that had significant impacts on both his personal and professional life. Back in 2021, the 26-time Cup Series winner welcomed his older brother, Kerry, onto the show.
Dale Jr. and Kerry discussed a litany of topics, including when the latter first met their father, Dale Earnhardt Sr., and stories about being roommates. One of the stories the two brothers recalled involved Kerry's wife, René, and her daughter from a previous marriage, Blade, who was three years old at the time of the story. Dale Jr. doesn't remember many stories, but he remembers the young Blade making a humorous joke about how quiet he was. He said:
"They're all in the living room and talking and Kerry told me this later. She was asking like, 'Who's that boy in that room? Who's that boy in that room?' They're like, 'That's Dale, that's my brother,' She goes, 'His mouth don't work.'" (57:14 onwards)
Dirty Mo Media, a media company owned by Earnhardt that produces podcasts including "Dale Jr. Download," has recently been uploading past DJD video episodes to their entirety. Viewers can now watch the DJD in full video format rather than clips. A few of the recent guests in the full video uploads include Kerry Earnhardt, John Force, and Ty Norris.
Kerry competed in NASCAR from 1998-2006, most notably on a part-time basis for Richard Childress Racing in the Cup Series in 2005. He most recently competed in the Xfinity Series in 2009, when he drove for Rick Ware Racing. While he never won a race in any three of NASCAR's national touring series, Earnhardt registered six career top 10s in the Xfinity Series.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. told humorous story about someone using his name in a video game
Dirty Mo Media has been active on social media recently to count down some of the best "Dale Jr. Download" moments of 2024. One of the recent ones posted involved Dale Earnhardt Jr. telling a funny story about seeing someone using "Dale Jr." as a username in a video game.
Earnhardt said he's been playing "Hell Let Loose," a World War II shooter game, for the last three years. In the game, Earnhardt said everyone is running around with their username above their heads. Coincidentally, someone had "Dale Jr." as their username. Earnhardt proceeded to run up to that person in the game, who had quite the reaction.
"I hop in this server and there's a 'Dale Jr.'" Dale Earnhardt Jr. said. "I'm like, 'Hey Dale Jr! Hey, Dale Jr.' I run over to him and he's like, 'What?' I'm like, 'I'm Dale Jr., I'm you.' ... He just turned and ran away. I was like, 'Damn, man, you just have no idea how cool this could be."
Dale Earnhardt Jr. retired from NASCAR competition after the 2017 season. He has since ventured into the broadcasting side of the sport and will be a part of the Amazon/TNT Sports team in 2025.
