Kyle Larson claimed his sixth win of the season in the recently concluded Bank of America ROVAL 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He put on a dominant performance at Charlotte ROVAL on Sunday (October 13) to punch his ticket to the NASCAR playoff Round of 8.

Following the victory, the 32-year-old California native described his outing as fun but boring, where everything went smoothly for him and his #5 HMS team. The 109-lap race was relatively uneventful for him in the second half of the race as he led 62 of the final 82 laps with no major challenges.

Speaking to SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Kyle Larson reflected on his dominating Charlotte ROVAL performance and credited the win to having a solid start and great car throughout the day. Here’s what Larson said:

“Great day, a great car, a great start to our race too, I think, which kind of helped reshape how that was going to look. And then, yeah, we were just up front all day long, got to flip the stages and, yeah, our car was good. Had some good restarts too. So, that really helped things and, yeah, it was just, you know, a fun, boring day for us.”

Hence, Kyle Larson’s dominance continued in elimination races this season. The win marked the 29th of his career and second at the ROVAL.

Kyle Larson is proud of his #5 HMS pit crew team for their effort at ROVAL

A driver is as good as his team, and the 2021 NASCAR Cup champion knows it; without the strong effort of his pit crew team, the Charlotte ROVAL win won't have been possible. Kyle Larson was unbeatable in the second half of the race after the final restart.

Praises his #5 HMS team’s strong performance during pit stops at ROVAL, Larson said:

“Yeah, they were. We were able to get, which, I mean, we had the caution after that final stop anyways, but we gapped the #20 by a lot and, you know, Allmendinger too, I thought, you know, with him pitting a few laps before us, he would come out in front of us, but we had a gap on him.”
“We must have had a really good cycle there and, yeah, pit crew's been on it all year long. So, proud of their effort, proud of the whole road crew effort, everybody back the shop too. So, yeah, it's been fun. Hopefully, we can keep it up.”

Heading to the NASCAR playoff Round of 8, Kyle Larson is leading the Cup Series playoff standings with 20 points over championship rival Chrsitopher Bell. Larson has a 33-point cushion on the cutline; all he needs is a win or 27 more points to advance to the Championship 4 Race.
