Kyle Busch shared his two cents in the ongoing controversy from Richmond and took a savage jibe at Joey Logano ahead of Michigan Cup race. The two-time Cup champion didn't mince his words as he let his feelings known about last weekend’s race finish and NASCAR's subsequent penalty to Logano and Austin Dillon.
The Penske driver was fined $50,000 for his rash driving on the pit lane post the Richmond race end. Busch also mentioned that Kevin Harvick should have also been penalized when he wrecked him in Martinsville, in 2020 following Austin Dillon's scrapped playoff points.
Kyle Busch said with a cheeky grin on his face: (quotes from Bob Pockrass)
"There's a lot of guys that have done some desperate things to get wins, even when they're not desperate. You know, the one that had it happen to them is probably the one that's done it the most, that doesn't need to do it. So, you know, I guess his comments, he can be calling himself that."
"Somebody threw up a highlight of him from the KNN race at Irwindale years ago, I forgot all about that one.”
“Holy mackerel, doing sh*t like that should never get you to the top level, but it did so anyways, yeah, be mindful of what you do. I guess it's always going to come back on you YouTube.“
Kyle Busch hoping he won't need to cut off his new brace this week
NASCAR fans were surprised when Kyle Busch was seen tearing his hand brace while driving in Richmond. The former Joe Gibbs Racing driver talked about getting a new brace for the Michigan race. Busch told Bob Pockrass:
"We wrapped it too tight. It was starting to swell up and you could feel the pulsing through your hand. I just had to loosen it up and give it some room to breathe a little bit."
The #8 driver also informed that he has made a new brace for this weekend. The RCR driver is also hopeful that he won't need a scissor to cut off this brace after he was seen doing the same in Richmond.
Rowdy announced that he was dealing with a wrist injury he suffered in the Brickyard 400 crash. However, he informed that it didn't require any surgery. He continued to race with a brace to qualify for the championship playoffs. Kyle Busch hasn't missed the playoffs in 12 years.
It has been a difficult season for Kyle Busch and Richard Childress Racing. Can the two-time Cup champion find form and qualify for the championship playoffs?
