NASCAR veteran Kenny Wallace grieved the untimely demise of renowned staff photographer William Greenblatt, who also happened to be one of his close friends. Greenblatt, commonly known as Bill by his loved ones, was 70 at the time of his death.

Before moving to United Press International, Greenblatt used to work as a disk jockey at KSHE Radio. Per reports, he worked for seven governors, multiple mayors, and, as per Fox 2, “numerous public agencies across the bi-state region over the decades.”

However, William Greenblatt’s appearance at St. Louis Cardinals games is what Wallace still remembers him for. On Monday, December 16, Sports director and host Tom Ackerman posted his thoughts on Greenblatt’s death through a heartfelt post on X (formerly known as Twitter). Addressing Ackerman, Wallace reposted,

“Horrible news and Unbelievable 😳@Ackerman1120.. Bill has done a lot for me. I never saw this coming 😞❤️ The photographer at our @Cardinals games.”

Greenblatt was also the first photographer honored by the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. Despite battling cancer for the past few years, Greenblatt never let it affect the quality of his work.

Greenblatt is survived by his wife and children, who were present at the time of his passing. Dates for his funeral services will be announced at a later date.

Kenny Wallace backs 23-year-old NASCAR driver’s move to Indy NXT in 2025

Hailie Deegan signed a multi-year deal with AM Racing for the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series. However, after running 17 races through the season, her rookie campaign came to an abrupt end. In July, AM Racing released Deegan from the No. 15 team. She was 27th in the standings at the time.

Deegan announced the decision on X (formerly Twitter),

“I worked hard to prepare for this season after the team pursued me to drive their car. Unfortunately, it has not turned out the way that I expected. There are always several reasons within a race team as to why things do or do not work, but sadly our goals no longer align. With that being said, myself and AM Racing will be parting ways,” she wrote.

Following her exit from NASCAR, Deegan is expected to join the Indy NXT Series as the driver of the No 38 HMD Motorsports entry. While interviewing ex-NASCAR driver Ken Schrader, Kenny Wallace touched on the matter and said,

“People act like they don't care...I don't care she's gone now but boy, I tell you what; any scrolling you do, any article you read, they get record ratings. They get record reviews. People do care and they're lying when they say they don't about Hailie Deegan.”
“If you do good in IndyCar NXT, it's like the NASCAR Busch Series, the next thing is the Indy 500,” he added. (0:45)

Meanwhile, AM Racing tabbed Harrison Burton to join its Xfinity roster in 2025. Burton, a 23-year-old Huntersville native, won his first-ever Cup Series race at Daytona in August and this got Wood Brothers Racing their 100th series win.
