Fans were far from happy with the latest NASCAR social media edit on Bubba Wallace. While some fans failed to decode the meaning behind the reel posted on Instagram, others did not like the idea.
On Monday, NASCAR uploaded a video on Bubba Wallace with the caption "BW." In the video, they transitioned Zack D Films' educational purpose video with that of Wallace's finest NASCAR moments.
Notably, the segment of the reel is a part of the ongoing "unexpected edit trend" where the viewer can hardly expect the next part of the clip. This, however, did not sit well with the fans as they failed to connect the video with the trend.
The clip starts with Zack D Films' animation, where an earbud remains stuck inside the ear of a man. As he tries to get it out, the video gets transitioned to the 23XI driver Wallace's best moments in the Cup Series.
As fans could not relate to the video, they shared their reactions on the Meta-owned platform, Instagram. Here's some feedback left by fans in the video's comment section.
Reacting to the video, a fan wrote, "Horrible edit."
Another fan wrote, "Admin dropped the most confusing edit in history."
"Doesn't make sense," another fan wrote.
"NASCAR respectfully, what is this?" wrote a fan, asking about the edit.
A fan wrote, "To video editor: You possessed hidden talent, keep it hidden."
"Really? Does not make any sense? Did someone hack into NASCAR server? Please explain?" wrote another fan.
While some fans could not relate to the transition of the clip, others questioned the need to hype Bubba Wallace, who hasn't been winning races of late.
Bubba Wallace's Cup Series career in question amid NASCAR hype
After the release of the recent clip that hyped Bubba Wallace up, the 23XI Racing driver's recent NASCAR form came into the limelight yet again. The #23 star had an underwhelming 2024 season, where he not only failed to win a race but also failed to qualify for the playoffs.
Wallace concluded the season in 18th place with 878 points to his credit. He racked up six Top 5s, 14 Top 10s, a stage win, and led only 139 laps in 36 races. His average start position was 14.861 and his average finish position was 15.278.
The 31-year-old managed these statistics at a time when his 23XI teammate, Tyler Reddick, claimed the regular season championship, qualified for the Championship 4, won three races and finished the season in fourth place.
Despite such an underwhelming show, the #23 driver is all set to get behind the wheel of his Toyota Camry XSE at 23XI Racing yet again in 2025. He will race alongside existing teammate, Tyler Reddick and newcomer Riley Herbst.
