Former NASCAR Cup Series driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his half-brother Kerry Earnhardt were featured on an episode of the "Dale Jr. Download" podcast, and Kerry took a hilarious jab at Dale Jr.'s punctuality. Kerry highlighted how Junior came in late during his job at a diner and almost got fired.

Kerry and Dale reminisced about their old roommates' days and their time working at the Ole Bill Kitchens in the podcast, and Kerry highlighted that Dale Jr. always came in late during his shifts. Junior's elder brother mentioned that he came around noon, and Earnhardt Jr. jokingly reacted to his accusations.

"Horsesh*t, I would be 15 minutes late," stated Dale Earnhardt Jr. [00:03]

Dale Jr. further pointed out that he was only 20 minutes late and was only for one or two days. He added that they would have fired him if he had consistently done so, and Kerry hilariously disagreed with Junior. Kerry Earnhardt said:

"By the time you get off that computer. You would not driving up there to be (on time)." He continued, "He comes into work, and Ole Bill Kitchens was the service manager, and Junior comes walking in, and Bill says, Dale, come here in I need to talk to you. I don't remember what y'all's discussion was, but I remember he said, Let me show you something. He grabbed his arms around his shoulder and walked out and said, See that sign right here? That's about two letters from getting your a*s fired; remember that." [00:10]

In the same podcast with Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kerry Earnhardt opened up about how he met his father, Dale Earnhardt Sr., for the first time.

“When I opened that door it got quiet: Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s half-brother Kerry recalled his memories of meeting his father for the first time

In the episode of taking hilarious jabs at Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kerry Earnhardt recalled the time when he didn't know who his father was until he was nine years old. Kerry was Earnhardt Sr.'s first son from his first wife, Latane, and got to know about his father after his parents' divorce.

Kerry often asked his mother who his real father was, and Latane used to hide the truth from him because she knew Dale Sr. wouldn't be around to spend time with little Kerry. She knew this could affect Kerry and hid the truth, but she couldn't keep the secret for long.

Kerry met his father for the first time on the day when he got his driver's license and drove a car to his grandmother's house. Earnhardt Sr.'s shop was in the backyard, and Kerry gathered courage for two hours to walk there to meet Senior.

“Everybody (was) laughing and clanging tools and stuff,”’ recalled Kerry. “When I opened that door, it got quiet, and Dad was under the hood, and he just raised up when I open the door, and Dad was like, ‘Hey son, I said, ‘Hey Dad, how are you going? He said, Good, and then he said, "Come on, let's go riding," stated Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s half-brother.
“So we rode around town a little bit just talking... He mentioned about me coming to the house and visiting and getting to meet you and Kelley. We had apart from 3 years old to 16 years old. I didn't know if I would be accepted or rejected,” Kerry added.

Later, Kelly Earnhardt served as the driver development consultant for Dale Earnhardt Inc. till 2011 and ran seven races in the Cup Series in his three-year stint. He also ran 72 Xfinity Series races in more than ten years in the series, followed by 27 races in the Truck Series in two years.
