NASCAR Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace has not made headlines for his on-track performances but also for his relationship with his wife, Amanda Carter. Their love story has been one of the most talked about among NASCAR fans, and on that note, let’s take a look at how Wallace met his wife and the journey of their relationship.
Bubba Wallace and his wife Amanda first met in high school. They used to sit near each other in Spanish class and were friends but didn’t date in high school. After their high school ended, they stayed in touch, and occasionally, before they reconnected during a college football game in 2015. Afterwards, they started spending more time together and began dating in 2016.
Wallace proposed to Carter in front of a waterfall in Oregon in 2021. The intimate moment was captured on social media, where Wallace shared photos of the proposal with the caption:
“Why I waited so long..we will never know. The wait is over!! Here’s to forever! Forever ever!”
Wallace and Carter tied the knot on New Year’s Eve in 2022 in a stunning ceremony held in Charlotte in front of close friends, family, and members of the NASCAR community. The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Becks Hayden Wallace, on September 29, 2024.
“He would always try to cheat” - Bubba Wallace’s wife recalled from their high school days
Amanda Carter worked as a financial analyst at Bank of America in Charlotte. In an interview with “The People” in 2023, Carter recalled her high school days with Bubba Wallace. She reminisced about their shared Spanish class, where Wallace had made mischievous attempts to cheat on her exams.
“We were in Spanish class in high school, and we sat near each other. I don't remember first meeting, but he would always try to cheat. We were friends. There was three or four of us that did all of our projects together, and he always would try to cheat off my exams because I was much smarter than he was!” Carter said.
The 2025 NASCAR season will mark Bubba Wallace’s fifth year with 23XI Racing in the Cup Series. His first win came in the 2021 YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. He is on the longest winless streak of his career, with his last win coming back in 2022 at Kansas.
Bubba Wallace will be seen in action in the 2025 NASCAR season on February 2, with the pre-season exhibition event at Bowman Gray Stadium.
