The pit crew of NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Larson (5) celebrates his Brickyard 400 win with team owner Rick Hendrick, Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Rick Hendrick has 94 dealerships all across the United States. The 75-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best NASCAR car owners of all-time, with his team, Hendrick Motorsports being the most successful Cup Series team with 304 victories and a record 14 Cup Series titles.

On the racetrack, the 2017 NASCAR Hall of Famer has done it all. Off the racetrack, Hendrick is also highly successful in the automotive industry with the Hendrick Automotive Group. Here, we'll take a look at how many car dealerships the legendary NASCAR owner has in the United States.

Rick Hendrick has over 90 dealerships nationwide

According to HendrickCars.com, Hendrick Automotive Group has exactly 94 dealerships across the United States, making it the largest privately owned automotive group in the country. Some of the states where the dealerships are located include Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.

The automotive group was founded in 1976, as Hendrick became the country's youngest Chevrolet dealer at 26 years old. The dealership was an instant success as it became the #1 Chevrolet franchise throughout the Carolinas.

In the 1980s, Hendrick expanded his reach by adding franchises to represent other car manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Isuzu, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Porsche, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo. Hendrick Automotive Group continued to expand throughout the 1990s and 2000s, setting up dealerships in big-time cities such as Kansas City.

The 75-year-old's dealerships continue to thrive today. Last year, Hendrick Automotive Group amassed over $13 billion in revenue and sold nearly 200,000 cars in the United States. The company also serviced over two million cars throughout 2023.

On the front page of the group's website, HendrickCars.com, viewers can read about its culture. The site states that Hendrick Automotive Group puts their employees and customers first to ensure successful business. The site reads:

"Hendrick Automotive Group believes that people are its most important asset. Our primary focus is to help our teammates accomplish the goals they have set for themselves, their careers and their families. It's the Hendrick Advantage. Taking care of our employees helps us better care for our customers."

HendrickCars.com, the automotive group's website, is the primary sponsor on Kyle Larson's #5 Chevrolet in the Cup Series. The website also has sponsorship presence on the #71 Chevrolet in the CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, driven by Rajah Caruth, and the #17 Chevrolet in the Xfinity Series, a part-time team often driven by Cup Series stars such as Larson, William Byron, and Chase Elliott throughout the season.

On the racetrack, Hendrick fields four full-time Cup Series teams for Hendrick Motorsports. This year, the organization celebrated its 40th season of Cup Series racing. Byron piloted his #24 Chevrolet to three victories, including the season-opening Daytona 500. He made it to the Championship 4 race and finished third among the title contenders.
