“I bleed purple”: Denny Hamlin clear on their relationship amid $70B worth sponsor’s JGR exit

An hour before the last race of the 2024 season on November 10, Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin posted a tribute video expressing gratitude for his long-term $70 billion worth (according to Forbes) sponsor FedEx and recapitulating his time with them. The shipping company has sponsored his #11 Toyota since his rookie year 2005.

FedEx and Hamlin's driver-sponsor partnership lasted 20 seasons and was the longest alliance in NASCAR's history. FedEx gradually reduced its investment in the Toyota team and only sponsored 13 point-paying races this year, including the season finale. It will not return to NASCAR, and Hamlin opened up on their relationship via Jayski:

“It’s certainly emotional because of the relationship that I’ve had with them for 19 years. There’s not many out there anymore that are around that long, especially with all the opportunities to sponsor different sports leagues and arenas."

Hamlin won 47 of his 54 races under the shipping company's banner. He added:

"It’s really hard to put into words because I got to know so many of the employees, so many of the executives over 20 years. I bleed purple. Every time that a FedEx truck goes by, my kids are yelling, ‘Daddy.’ That’s some of that brand awareness that I hear from fans, as well. Whether they are going to be on my racecar in the future or not, doesn’t matter, I’m still going to be a part of the purple family."

Denny Hamlin finished eighth with three victories, 18 top-10 finishes, and 12 top-five finishes in the 2024 season and led 943 laps, the third most in the Cup Series.

Denny Hamlin's fiancée Jordan Fish shares her gratitude for her husband's "loyal" sponsor

After he parted ways with FedEx, Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin's fiancée Jordan Fish posted an Instagram story expressing gratitude toward the shipping company for being a "loyal" sponsor. She shared a clip he posted of his time with FedEx captioned:

"Thank you, @fedex."

Fish wrote in her story:

"The most loyal sponsor in all of sports. Thank you @fedex 💜🧡"

Asked by Bob Pockrass about his future sponsors, Hamlin replied:

“It's a work in progress. I mean, we've got some good talks going on, but we'll see what goes on next year. Obviously, we've got some great partners that have been with the team for quite some time now.” [00:30]

Joe Gibbs Racing hasn't announced sponsors for the 2025 season.
