Kelley Earnhardt talked about the relationship she shared with her father Dale Earnhardt Sr and how despite being away from home, she made up her mind to return after an emotional moment. She had been away from home in Wilmington for college as she was the first one in the family to do so.

Kelley Earnhardt, whose net worth is $50 million (as per Celebrity Net Worth), was always interested in racing cars and riding motorcycles. She had different expectations from her father, who was an established racing driver at the time. As she revealed speaking to Kenny Wallace, Dale Earnhardt Sr would tell her that racing and driving bikes was not something that girls would do.

"I was a tomboy growing up. I wanted to race cars, I wanted to deer hunt, I wanted to ride motorcycles, I wanted to do all these things and my dad was always like that's not for girls, you're gonna skin up your legs." (0:34)
"It was the time then you know, don't get me wrong."

Kenney Earnhardt then revealed that after going to college, she hadn't been home for a long time. But then she got a bunch of flowers from her father, which ultimately made her want to return home.

"I go to college and I'm at I'm in Wilmington for three years and I get a set of flowers from my dad and it said 'it's been so long since I've seen you, I forgot what you look like.'" (1:13)
"So I guess that made me decide to move home and I moved home."

Kelley Earnhardt found her way around in the racing business despite her dad's statements. She is currently the co-owner of JR Motorsports, the NASCAR Cup Series which her brother, Dale Earnhardt Jr, also owns.

Recently, the team was speculated to buy charters after Stewart-Haas Racing announced shutting down, but as it seems currently, that option is out of the window.

Kelley Earnhardt co-owned JR Motorsports to not purchase charters, reveals Dale Earnhardt Jr

Stewart-Haas Racing announced recently that they are going to shut down at the end of the current Cup Series season and their four charters will be sold off to different teams currently running in the championship. This appeared as an opportunity for teams with three or fewer cars.

After long speculation, Dale Earnhardt Jr. revealed that JR Motorsports, which he co-owns with his sister Kelley Earnhardt, is "out of the charter business." He told FOX Sports:

"We’re out of the charter business right now. ... The sale of a charter, I would call it a cycle, right? Well, we missed this last cycle. We'll see what comes down the road. I'm almost feeling like that if I were to ever get involved in the Cup side, it would be like an investment — my personal monetary investment in something current."
