Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s co-owned team JR Motorsports driver Justin Allgaier won the fourth Xfinity Championship victory for the team and his maiden Championship title at Phoenix Raceway on November 10, 2024. Allgaier has arguably been JR Motorsports' best driver this season, and Dale Jr. expressed his pride with the 38-year-old's win.

Chase Elliott claimed the first Xfinity Series championship title for JRM in 2014, followed by William Byron in 2017 and Tyler Reddick in 2018. After a long six-year hiatus, Allgaier joined the list by winning a fourth one.

The JRM #7 Chevy driver led the driver's standings and earned 4035 stage points with two wins, ten top-five finishes, and 20 top-ten finishes in the 2024 season. However, the team finished fourth in the owner's standings, and in a post-race interview, Dale Earnhardt Jr. expressed his pride in Allgaier's victory and said (via Kelly Crandall on X):

"I'll probably get in trouble for saying this, but I didn't give one shit about that owner championship. I wanted my driver on that stage."

Joe Gibbs Racing leads the owner's points table with 4000 points. JGR secured nine wins, 16 top-five finishes, and 22 top-ten finishes in 32 starts. Whereas JRM secured only two wins, nine top-five finishes, and 19 top-ten finishes in 32 starts.

“The loyalty starts to fade”: Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s wife Amy on the Martinsville controversy ahead of Cup Series Championship race

The last race of the round of eight was the top four contenders selecting race held at the Martinsville Speedway on November 3, 2024. However, the race ended controversially, and NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife Amy Earnhardt were not impressed by the sanctioning association's verdict.

The officials allowed HMS driver William Byron to advance to the final race of the season while penalizing Christopher Bell. NASCAR slammed Bell with a penalty after he pulled out a hail melon-style move and rode the wall while overtaking 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace in the final lap of the race.

This dropped the #20 driver from P188 to P22, ending his chances to win the championship title. Dale Earnhardt Jr. reflected on the situation, recalling the last race of the Round of 12 when NASCAR slammed Alex Bowman with a penalty leading to his disqualification from the race. Bowman finished 18th at the Bank of America ROVAL 400 at Charlotte Roval on October 13, 2024, with solid chances to advance to the round of eight.

However, in a post-race inspection, Bowman's car was found to be too light, dropping him in 38th place, and causing Joey Logano to overtake him into the round of eight.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. expressed his anger over a similar situation that happened at the Martinsville Speedway, where Byron surpassed Bell in the finals (via DirtyMoMedia on X):

"I don't believe you put somebody that's knocked out into the playoffs. I feel like that takes any legitimacy out of it entirely. They already got tricky with that when they penalized the #48 and put Logano in, and so doing more of that, I'm gonna lose my, as a fan, I'm gonna lose my, like, the value of this is in question," Earnhardt Jr. said.

Earnhardt Jr.'s wife, Amy, agreed with her husband's statement and added:

"The loyalty kind of starts to fade as a fan and you can't trust it," Amy said [00:21].

While Dale Earnhardt Jr. mentioned he 'had a hard time saying it publicly', his co-host chipped in and said that he was also confused about whether he was "entertained" or "disgusted" by the official's verdict.
