During the 2018 Go Bowling at The Glen, Chase Elliott and his former Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jimmie Johnson shared a memorable on-track moment that is still cherished by many. It was a milestone for the Rick Hendrick organization and its #9 Chevy driver Elliott.
In his third full-time season with HMS, Elliott secured the maiden victory of his Cup Series career and recorded the 250th win in NASCAR's premier division for one of the sport's winningest organizations. This win became a cherishable moment for the 28-year-old and the NASCAR community and a heartwarming gesture by the seven-time Cup Series champion added cherry on the cake.
Soon after the #9 Elliott took the checkered flag, his Chevy ran out of fuel. As a result, he couldn't complete his first-ever victory lap. But to his surprise, his then-teammate, Johnson, passing by on the cool-down lap noticed the Georgia native stopped and pushed Elliott's car to the start/finish line.
Furthermore, to this heartwarming gesture, Elliott on the team radio said:
"I got my man Jimmie Jam, coming to push me!"

It is worth mentioning that, Chase Elliott's first triumph was identical to his father, Bill Elliott, a NASCAR Hall of Famer. After eight runner-up finishes, the father-son duo made their way to their first Cup Series victory lane during their time. Moreover, both drivers won their first race at a road course event.
"It's really anybody's ballgame": Chase Elliott addresses all four Hendrick Motorsports drivers advancing to Round of 8
The final race of the Round of 12 playoffs witnessed Hendrick's Kyle Larson taking the checkered flag for the sixth time this season. Moreover, his teammate, Chase Elliott managed a top-five finish at the road course race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
In a post-race interaction, Elliott shared his thoughts on all HMS drivers qualifying for the next round of playoffs.
"I feel like everybody's paddling the ship in the same direction, and it shows. And I'm proud to be part of it, you know, proud of everybody at 100 Motorsports, top to bottom. There's a lot of effort that goes in an achievement like that. And I think all the men and women over there should be really proud. And I have always said, I think you get to this round of eight, and it's really anybody's ballgame. So I'm looking forward to looking forward to Vegas and get going," Chase Elliot said (via Peter Stratta).
Out of the four HMS drivers, #5 Larson leads the playoffs table, followed by #24 William Byron who has a 4-point cushion above the cutline
While Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman are placed P7 and P8 after the Charlotte race with a nine and 16-point deficit, respectively.
