"I was not invited" - When Chase Elliott complained about Ryan Blaney and Bubba Wallace's outings without him

Five years ago, NASCAR driver Chase Elliott shared his disappointment over not being invited on trips to Hawaii and Disney World with fellow racers Ryan Blaney and Bubba Wallace.

In a fun interview on NBC Sports’ “Motormouth” at Daytona Media Day in 2019, Elliott talked about being left out of vacation invites.

"I didn't go to Hawaii; I was not invited to Hawaii. And then they all went to Disney World yesterday, and guess who wasn't invited to Disney World? Yeah, what time did they go to bed last night? I don't know... It's been a bit of a rough go," Elliot said (1:51).

Elliott later mentioned that he invited Ryan Blaney, who he has known since childhood, to a concert. But Blaney did not follow through. Elliott and the Team Penske driver grew up around racing as both their fathers were NASCAR drivers in the 1990s.

"I tried to invite Ryan to a concert last weekend. And you know, two months ago, 'great idea. Yeah, I'm coming!' And then came time to buy plane tickets, and no such thing. So here we are, left out again on the next trip. So I'm not sure what that's gonna lead to after this, but, uh, I don't know. I mean, I built a bridge; I got over it," he added (04:19).

The interviewers joked that Chase Elliott's success in racing might be a reason for his friends not including him.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver earned three wins and four poles in the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series. He qualified 18th for the Daytona 500 and finished 17th after getting caught in a late wreck. Elliott won at Talladega and Martinsville and then got his third win at the Charlotte Roval.

However, an engine failure at Dover and a crash at Phoenix kept him from making the Championship 4.

"He just never wants to come" - Ryan Blaney addressed Chase Elliott's claims a year later

Ryan Blaney responded to Chase Elliott's comments the following year. He said in an interview with accelerationnation.com that Elliott was always welcome to hang out but that he usually decided not to join them.

"He's [Chase Elliott] always invited, he just never wants to come. And then he likes to go to the media and say that we didn't invite him and didn't tell him. He always denies us, denies wanting to come for some reason. I don't know why," Blaney said (01:07).

Blaney also invited Chase to join him for a fun week with "a lot of sunshine and a lot of beers" and hoped he would accept the invitation soon.
