Scott Bloomquist's daughter, Ariel, has shared feeling "beyond happy" accepting the 2025 Hoosier Hero Legend Award on behalf of her late father. She said Bloomquist would've been happy to receive the award himself.

Bloomquist was deemed one of the most successful dirt track stock car racers of all time, which led to getting inducted into the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame in 2002. He passed away last August following a plane crash near his home in Mooresburg.

In an interview with FloRacing, Ariel Bloomquist made her feelings known about her father receiving the Hoosier Hero Legend Award. Established in 2022, the award annually celebrates individuals "who demonstrate passion, pride, and success in the racing industry."

"I got a message one day that David and Tony wanted to get on a call with me. So I got on it and they told me that my dad was going to get the 2025 Hoosier Hero Legend, and I was beyond happy, especially because I know how much it honors him and how much he would to be here and accept this award himself," she said.

When Ariel was asked about her thoughts on the support and tributes for her father, she replied:

It's pretty awesome, especially Ryan Gustin. It was an ideal car and it was awesome to see. It was kind of really heartfelt because it's something we won't get to see. There was a bunch of other people, they did same thing, which was really awesome. It shows how much that they respected him and how much respect that he has for them." [0:47]

Bloomquist concluded by saying that she would keep her father's chassis-building business, Team Zero Race Cars, alive.

NASCAR community mourned Scott Bloomquist's death

As a highly esteemed stock car racer, Scott Bloomquist received several tributes following his death in August. Some were from the NASCAR community, with former NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace mourning the late racing legend's death.

In an episode of the Coffee With Kenny show, Wallace claimed Bloomquist was the smartest dirt racer of all time, saying:

"This is so hard to believe. I always thought Scott Bloomquist was different, unique. I was always attracted to people like that. When people were different, I kind of smiled and talked to them because they were different in a good way." [0:37]

He added:

He was the smartest dirt racer of all-time. He built, designed his own race cars. He won more races than anybody, he won every crown jewel, there was simply no more left for him to do." [5:34]

Fellow dirt car racer and NASCAR driver Kyle Larson also paid tribute to Bloomquist, writing "RIP Scott Bloomquist" on his X account.

During his racing days, Scott Bloomquist won three championships in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series along with 94 victories in 497 starts. He was also crowned the World of Outlaws Late Model Series champion in 2004.

The late driver's race team, Scott Bloomquist Racing, also has a long list of accomplishments. It has amassed over 600 wins, nine national championships, and eight Late Model Dreams, among others.
