Parker Kligerman recently announced retiring from full-time Xfinity Series racing after wrapping up the 2024 season. As a result, Big Machine Racing landed a deal with Truck Series sophomore Nick Sanchez. The #48 Chevy driver did congratulate his upcoming replacement albeit with a sarcastic dig.

Nicholas aka Nick Sanchez is running his second Truck season for Rev Racing. The 23-year-old made the playoffs in his debut year and bagged sixth place in the championship. This year, the #2 Chevy Truck driver has clinched two wins, nine top-5s, and 12 top-10s. He is currently placed fourth in the playoffs with a 34-point cushion.

Kligerman is in his second year with Big Machine Racing, beginning the 2023 season, and has amassed 12 top-5s and 30 top-10s thus far. Moreover, he made the playoffs last year. Placed 11th, the 34-year-old is in contention for this season's round of 12 as well.

Ahead of the regular season finale at Bristol, the departing driver poked fun at Sanchez and expressed confidence in the latter's ability to go "great" in the North Carolina-based outfit. Kligerman wrote:

"Congrats @Nicksanchez080! You’ll do great here You can have the keys in 8 weeks. I’ll do my best to return the car in good condition," he tweeted.

Kligerman debuted in the Xfinity Series with Penske Racing as a development driver in 2009.

“That ends this year”: Parker Kligerman on putting a full stop to his pursuit of collecting "checkered flags"

After entering NXS with Penske Racing, Parker Kligerman drove a part-time schedule until he got a full-time seat at Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2013. However, he switched to Cup Series the next year and ran the first eight races for Swan Racing.

After being absent for six seasons, Kligerman returned to Xfinity with Emerling Gase Motorsports, part-time in 2022. The next season, he secured a multi-year full-time seat with Scott Borchetta's team.

Even though Kligerman couldn't register a win this season, his four top-5s and 12 top-10s have placed him above the playoff cutline. The #48 Chevy driver will part ways with the team after completing the remaining eight races on his 2024 schedule.

Before kicking off his Watkins Glen race, where he finished seventh, Kligerman revealed on his 'Money Lap' podcast and later tweeted that he won't be pursuing full-time racing.

"Even in the bleakest moments, it's been my sole objective to try and go fast. To catch, claw, and fight for space, a chance, airtime, and checkered flags. That ends this year, I've decided this will be my last year as a full-time driver, and I will no longer be pursuing racing full-time," a part of Kligerman's message read.

Parker Kligerman is also an analyst and pit reporter for NBC, and since he hasn't relayed any information about retiring from analyst duties, he might be seen serving the role.
