After a chaotic month professionally, Hailie Deegan felt the warmth of her boyfriend's birthday wishes as she turned 23 on July 18. Chase Cabre took to Instagram to celebrate the day, and Hailie made sure to repost his story on her own Instagram account. She didn’t stop there; she also re-shared the birthday greetings she received from her brother, mother, cousins, and friends on Instagram.

Hailie Deegan's roots are in off-road and dirt racing, but in 2016, she switched to asphalt to chase her dream of stock car racing. She started her NASCAR career in 2018 with the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West and then drove in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Xfinity. Until last week, Hailie was tearing up the track with the Xfinity team AM Racing, behind the wheel of the #15 Ford Mustang.

But her struggle to keep up in the series, finding herself at the bottom of the points table among the full-time Xfinity drivers, led AM Racing to sit her out for a race and put Joey Logano in her seat instead. The move spelled the end of the road for Hailie Deegan's stint with AM Racing as they later officially went their separate ways.

But after a rough month for the trailblazing female driver who won a number of races in the West Series, her birthday brought a bit of cheer. Her boyfriend crafted a collage of her four best shots and shared it on his Instagram Story. He added a sweet note saying:

"Happy Birthday Babe! I love you @hailiedeegan."

The duo have been dating since 2020, both have roots deep in racing and have even competed against each other during their stint in the ARCA Menards Series. Last October 2023, Chase Cabre asked the question to Hailie Deegan, and Hailie Deegan happily accepted.

Kevin Harvick has his doubts about Hailie Deegan's future in NASCAR

On the latest episode of "Kevin Harvick's Happy Hour," Kevin Harvick weighed in on Deegan's career trajectory. He believes that leaving the Toyota development system was a misstep for Deegan.

Harvick pointed out that Ford’s development program is the weakest, Toyota’s is the strongest, and Chevy falls in the middle. He emphasized the abundance of resources and patience available within the Toyota system. Harvick remarked:

"I think that she needed more time in the Truck Series, getting that guidance and mentorship that she needed in order to develop into what she needed to be a NASCAR race-car driver."
"She carries this fan base off the racetrack that's a big fan base, and I think that she just got pushed through too fast and wound up in the wrong development system for her to be successful. I think the moment that she stepped outside of that Toyota development system was a bad move. … I think it's going to be tough to get another chance. That's going to be the hard part," he added.

It remains to be seen whether she can make a return to the NASCAR Truck Series.
