Trackhouse Racing driver Daniel Suarez recently announced that he would be competing in the NASCAR Brasil Series next month. The 32-year-old Suarez will race in Sao Paulo, Brazil, just days after his marriage to fiance Julia Piquet.

2016 Xfinity Series champion Suarez became the first Mexican driver to win a national series championship. He competes full-time in the Cup Series, piloting the #99 Chevy for Trackhouse Racing, and has won two races. His most recent win was a dramatic photo finish at the Atlanta Motor Speedway earlier this season.

In a recent media interaction, Daniel Suarez discussed his plans to race at the iconic Autódromo José Carlos Pace, also called Interlagos, on August 3-4. The NASCAR Brasil Series race is scheduled to take place during the Cup Series multi-week break for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Suarez claimed that his fiance, Julia Piquet, daughter of three-time Formula 1 champion Nelson Piquet, didn't require any convincing for him to get back to racing so soon after their marriage.

"Many of you guys don't know Julia obviously to the level that I do, but I'm very convinced that Julia loves racing either more or the same that I do. I mean, she loves racing so much, she's with me in all the races," Suarez said.

Moreover, Daniel Suarez shared a moment when his fiance, Julia was involved at the NASCAR Brasil Series. He said:

"A few years ago, this series came to the United States to do a few races in Homestead and I think it was somewhere else in Florida. And Julia got invited and raced with this series. So I thought, you know, I may have to go ask her for advice on this one...its going to be a lot of fun."

The Mexican native also revealed that Piquet's mother and brother, Nelson Jr., a former Formula 1 driver, will attend the race. Suarez also added that Julia was elated regarding the change in plans to extend their stay in Brazil. He said:

"Actually, our (initial) plan was to travel back to the United States before the weekend, and so we have to change our plans for the race and she loved it."

"Very fortunate to have this opportunity" - Daniel Suarez on his special edition NASCAR race in Brazil

After the Cup Series race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, #99 Daniel Suarez will head to Sao Paulo, Brazil to compete in a special edition race in the NASCAR Brasil Series.

Speaking to media personnel, Suarez shared his thoughts on this opportunity and said (via NASCAR):

"Brazil is a country that is very close to my heart. Julia (Piquet, fiancée), she’s already from Brazil. Her entire family is in Brazil. I’ve been competing in Brazil since 2015, endurance races in go-karts, and I have got to know the culture, the people and the motorsport love to a different level. I’ve been competing almost every year, pretty much, since 2015, and I love it so much."
"We’re gonna be getting married in Brazil in a couple weeks, and when I found out that they were gonna be having a NASCAR Brasil race in Interlagos on a race track that is so historic … it was a no-brainer for me. I started having some conversations with NASCAR and NASCAR Brasil, and I got the opportunity, so super excited. Very fortunate to have this opportunity."

Meanwhile, Daniel Suarez recently had a P16 finish at the Pocono Raceway. He now sits at P17 in the overall NASCAR Cup Series standings with one win, two top-five, and three top-ten finishes after 21 starts in the 2024 season.
