Denny Hamlin recently revealed what he's going to do in the two-week break from NASCAR. After the Brickyard 400, this season's schedule will come to a halt for 14 days because of the Olympics Games in Paris.

The next race will be at Richmond on 14th August and drivers will have ample time to rest or a vacation, which in the case of Hamlin is going to be the latter.

During the latest episode of the "Actions Detrimental" podcast, Hamlin was asked if he had any plans in the off weeks. The $65 million-worth driver replied:

"I do. Get the hell out of here. I'm so done. I'm going away. Just going to go somewhere else." [57:50]

This led to his co-host Jared Allen wondering about the last time he had taken a vacation. Hamlin replied that it was for Christmas in December last year. However, the #11 driver added that it wasn't exactly a vacation as he further shared his plans for the upcoming two week break.

"Anybody with a family knows that Christmas is no vacation. But I don't get to have many vacations. But I am this time, am going to go away. Find some water. Find a boat. FInd another country. And go explore a little bit. Get out of here for a little while," he added.

So far this year, Denny Hamlin has had a decent season by his own high standards. He has won three races and is in contention for the regular season championship. But lately, his results have been far from what the overall picture of his season would suggest.

Denny Hamlin is finding it difficult to speak about his Sundays on Actions Detrimental

After scoring four consecutive finishes inside the top five from Kansas to Gateway, Denny Hamlin suffered a DNF at Sonoma. Since then, the JGR veteran has only finished inside the top five once (Pocono) with his other five finishes outside the top 20.

Because of this recent run, Hamlin was left frustrated as he opened up on it on Actions Detrimental's recent episode.

"Well, fu**, goddamn it! I mean [expletive]. Oh the pain! The pain! These are the worst Mondays. I get out of bed and I'm like, 'Now I gotta talk about this s**t?' Like it's just so painful because I just lived it," Hamlin said. [00:55]

Elaborating on his race at IMS, Hamlin claimed he felt really good heading into the third stage with everyone needing to fuel up one more time, including him. From his standpoint, it was very straightforward. He claimed they had the fastest lap by "a sizeable margin."

"Let's just go green. Let's go green and everyone then has to pit under green and that's when we win the race."

As per Hamlin, they were one caution away from their race going "just as planned," but the second caution put them in "a weird fuel window" which benefitted Kyle Larson and "f****d everything up" for the #11 team. Eventually, he got collected in a wreck involving two other cars and finished with a DNF in a race where he won a stage and could have won the whole thing.
