Chase Briscoe said that he was very close to finding a new team for the 2025 Cup Series. Briscoe is currently in Stewart-Haas Racing. The team announced not long back that they would be dissolving after the 2024 season, prompting its drivers to look for new teams.
Briscoe has reportedly been tipped to replace Martin Truex Jr. at Joe Gibbs Racing .Truex Jr. announced that he would be retiring from NASCAR at the end of the 2024 season.
Chase Briscoe spoke to journalist Bob Pockrass and was asked about his future plans. The 29-year-old said that a move was in the works and he was feeling pretty close about finding a new team.

Chase Briscoe aims to join a team that supports both his professional and personal life balance
Briscoe is expecting twins soon, and the #14 Ford driver is excited about the upcoming opportunities. Although he is grateful to Ford, he believes he will likely choose a team based on its past performance and one that allows him some spare time to spend with his family. He said:
"There are a lot of different options, right? Performance is definitely a major factor. The options are important. You know, the future and what the future looks like. And obviously, another part is what's going to be the best to provide for my family. Twins are on the way. I'm going to have three kids just like that."
Additionally, he mentioned that he enjoys other types of races, including sprint cars, but he will likely step back from these next year to spend more time with his kids.
"Oh no, I mean... I enjoy it. [...] But, honestly, it's something that... I've talked to my wife about it a couple of times. Even though I don't have three kids now, I don't know how much I'm going to be able to race anyway. Larson makes it work, but I don't know how he does it. With one kid I already feel like it's hard enough, and I just don't know how I can be a great father being gone all the time."
Chase Briscoe is currently ranked 17th in the Cup Series standings. The 29-year-old has had five Top-10 finishes so far in 2024, with his best performance being ending fifth at the Goodyear 400, which took place at the Darlington Raceway. Three races have taken place since then and he finished below the Top 15 on each occasion.
Chase Briscoe's most recent race was the Toyota / Save Mart 350 at the Sonoma Raceway, where he suffered a DNF.
