Joey Logano is locked in this year's playoffs with a win in the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway in June. He has qualified for the Championship race on five occasions so far, all of which were in even years (2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022). Is 2024 going to be his sixth Championship Four appearance?

Logano drives the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Mustang for Team Penske full-time in the Cup Series. He is in his 16th season in the Cup Series and 12th with the Ford team. Logano has 33 wins under his belt and remains one of the four drivers, the other three being Richard Petty, Jeff Gordon, and Kyle Busch, to have delivered more than 25 wins before 30 years of age.

Last Wednesday, during the NASCAR Playoff Media Day at the Charlotte Convention Center, the Ford Performance PR group asked Logano about what he thought was his chances of making this year's Championship Four.

"This year I’ll say I’m superstitious, does that sound good?" Joey Logano told the reporters. "Next year, I won’t. I’m pretty basic and maybe more factual about things than that stuff. That stuff can get in your head more than anything, so I just go do my thing and if it works out like that, cool, we’ll have a cool story to talk about again."

Logano won his first NASCAR Cup Series championship in 2018. In 2022, he became the first driver to win the prestigious title in the NextGen era. Will Logano win his third Cup title this year at Phoenix?

Joey Logano enters this year's playoffs as the ninth seed with seven playoff points. He is just two points ahead of the Round of 12 cutline. However, he remains hopeful of bagging his third Cup Series championship this year.

"We always think we can win the championship," Joey Logano said in an interview at Chicago in July. "You think of 2018, I remember having the conversation with my wife and saying, ‘I hope we get through the first round.’ All of a sudden it got better and we went out and won the whole thing."
"You just gotta stay around. Are we seeded the best? No. We don’t have enough playoff points. The cards are stacked against us from that perspective. But I’ve seen where if you can just be solid, get through the rounds, and win the races that matter, you’re around when the speed knob gets turned up," he added.

Logano bagged the 32nd win of his career at Atlanta Motor Speedway last year in March. The 2015 Daytona 500 winner will now prepare for the upcoming race at the quad-oval intermediate speedway in Hampton, Georgia. Fans can watch the race live on NBC Sports and USA with radio updates on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio (8 September, 3 PM ET).
