Kyle Busch and his wife Samantha are extremely proud of their son’s achievements in motorsports. Recently, the nine-year-old budding speedster bagged the Golden Driller in the Junior Sprint Tulsa Shootout, arguably the biggest race of his life.
Samantha always lets her son know how much she appreciates everything he does as a race car driver. Oftentimes, she sends her thoughts over to Brexton through text messages. But he always has rather anticlimactic responses, which at times are quite hilarious to read.
If Samantha writes something like: "I am so proud of you! Watching you work so hard. stay disciplined, and commit yourself to your goals fills my heart. Keep being the amazing person you are. I love you - Mom", Brexton would respond to it with just a thumbs-up emoji. He would then ask what Samantha had made for dinner.
Brexton drives the No. 18B under the banner of Kyle Busch Motorsports, a now-defunct NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team. Last February, he signed a three-year contract with Servpro Industries, LLC, that will keep him behind the wheel of the green and orange machine through 2026.
“I am so thankful that SERVPRO will continue to support me in my racing career for years to come,” said Brexton (via Speedsport). “We get to grow together. They believe in me, and I believe we can get them many more trips to victory lane. I couldn’t do it without the SERVPRO team and all their associates.”
According to The New York Times, Brexton won a whopping 45 races just in 2024. On the other hand, his father and two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch has been winless since June 4, 2023, when he won the Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway.
“Society wants everything hurried up” - 61-year-old NASCAR vet reflects on Kyle Busch’s son Brexton Busch’s racing career
Kenny Wallace, a former NASCAR driver, said that these days, kids like Brexton are required to mount race cars quite early in their lives. They are expected to excel or else be left behind.
“Nowadays, if you don’t get these kids in a race car by age 5, you’re considered behind. Society wants everything hurried up,” Wallace said.
However, Wallace did laud Kyle Busch and his wife Samantha for having all of that under control. According to him, Brexton’s parents have been doing a great job balancing childhood experiences and training.
“They’re allowing him to be a kid outside of the car—hanging out with friends, playing—but inside the car, they’re teaching him critical skills like geometry and strategy,” Wallace explained.
Each race Brexton wins speaks volumes about his racing prowess. Safe to say, he has proven himself as a chip off the old block. But it would be nice to see Brexton’s father win in 2025 as well.
