Dale Earnhardt Jr. has opined that he does not anticipate any incoming penalty for Austin Dillon. The Richard Childress Racing driver is under scanner after wrecking out Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin to punch his ticket to the playoffs.

Dillon led the overtime restart but Logano snatched the domination, took the white flag as the leader, and inched towards his second Cup win this season. However, moments before the 408-lap dash was about to conclude, the RCR driver, at the final corner, crashed into the Team Penske driver. He then drastically switched lanes and bumped into Hamlin, clearing the path to snap his two-year winless streak.

NASCAR insider Jeff Gluck outlined that a possible penalty could be awarded, despite the #3 Chevy driver's win not being in jeopardy. But Dale Earnhardt Jr. doesn't expect a penalty for "anything" Dillon did on the Richmond Raceway and iterated that he would be surprised if that happened.

“Honestly I don’t think, I would be surprised if Austin gets penalized for anything even though absolutely you could say he right-hooked the 11, there’s other instances with right hooks, that should be same for Austin,” Earnhardt Jr. said via Dale Jr. Download on YouTube (28:45).

While Junior sidelined the notion of a potential penalty for the RCR driver, he had a different interpretation of Logano getting a penalty for his post-race actions.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. believes Joey Logano is "going to get a big deal, big penalty" for venting his frustration on the pit road

Joey Logano was less than a quarter-mile away from emerging victorious on the Richmond Raceway. However, because of Austin Dillon's run-in, the #22 Ford driver careened onto the outside wall and couldn't help but see the checkered flag dropping for the RCR driver.

While Dillon was standing atop his Chevy to celebrate his win, Logano, among other drivers, made his way to the pitlane. He stalled his Mustang right in front of the race winner's family and #3 crew, then revved and did a burnout before moving to his designated stop.

Dillon was unhappy with that and expressed his displeasure. Dale Earnhardt Jr. also highlighted Logano's "out of control" maneuver at the pitlane and laid down his views on the possibility of a penalty. During the same episode of "Dale Jr. Download", he said:

“I think Joey’s going to get a big deal, a big penalty from the pit road stuff. He pissed (people) off. If you watch the in-car footage of Joey coming down pit road, there’s people that are crossing pit road. There shouldn’t be any people on pit road, it’s a live pit road... that’s a problem in itself. But there are, you know, with the officials, they’re jumping out of the way, Joey’s coming down pit road out of control," the two-time Xfinity Series champion said (at 29:22).

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has given his take concerning a penalty for both drivers. Which one do you think would be at a bigger loss, if slapped with repercussions?
