Chase Briscoe will have a new home in 2025 as he signed a multi-year deal with Joe Gibbs Racing, replacing veteran Martin Truex Jr., who is set to retire at the end of the ongoing season.

With his move to join a championship-winning organization, Briscoe set a high-stakes ultimatum for his NASCAR career, knowing this could be his last career opportunity where he can't afford a mistake.

Admitting the intense competition and high expectations within the JGR during the media interaction, Chase Briscoe has expressed that if he fails to win races with the #19 team in the first two seasons, then it could potentially mark the end of his NASCAR Cup Series career.

In a press conference, speaking about handling the pressure of moving to JGR, Chase Briscoe said (via FOX Sports):

“I have to perform over the next couple of years or I’m going to be out the door. If I don’t win, then the way I look at it is as my career is probably over because if I can’t perform at this caliber of a race team, then why would any other owner take a chance on me?”

Briscoe continued:

“There's no excuse to not win. You have to make the playoffs. If you don't make the playoffs, then there's no reason I should be driving this race car.”.

In a four-year full-time Cup career at Stewart-Haas Racing, Chase Briscoe has managed to secure only one win, 12 top-5s, and 27 top-10 finishes with an average finish of 18.7. The 29-year-old knows he needs to perform at his full potential with an intend to win to stay in the garage of JGR.

James Small shows confidence in Chase Briscoe’s potential

The 29-year-old Indiana driver will certainly get the opportunity to prove his capabilities and who knows he could be an elite driver.

James Small, who will continue as a crew chief of the #19 Toyota during Briscoe’s tenure, stated that the latter’s #14 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford was not competitive, but at JGR he will have one of the best rides in NASCAR.

Expressing confidence in Briscoe’s potential and determination to win, Small said (as quoted by FOX Sports):

“Chase has to prove himself — he's been in a car that's been not that great, you know what I mean? And now he's stepping to one of the most coveted rides in NASCAR. And I really believe after sitting down and talking to him that he's ready to do what it takes to win. And we're behind him.”
