Chase Briscoe is set to embark on a new journey as he bagged a ride with Joe Gibbs Racing, filling the shoes of the now-retired Martin Truex Jr. in the No. 19 Toyota. The 29-year-old, however, has emphasized the pressure he has to face in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Since its inception in 1992, the Huntersville, North Carolina-based organization has been a dominant force in the stock-car racing series. Coach Gibbs' team has racked up five Cup Series championship titles and has triumphed in over 200 races in NASCAR's premier division.

With being presented an opportunity to compete under one of the strongest NASCAR teams, the two-time Cup race winner Briscoe will perform alongside drivers such as #11 Denny Hamlin, #20 Christopher Bell, and #54 Ty Gibbs.

In a recent conversation, the 2024 Southern 500 winner Briscoe reflected on securing the ride with the four-car charter team and the pressure of the same,

"I love the pressure side, but I do think this is probably the most pressure I’ve ever been (under) in my life, as far as professionally," Briscoe said via NASCAR."
"It’s weird because there’s been other times where my career was literally gonna be over, right? But I feel like this is one of those opportunities where if you don’t perform, like, there’s no excuses. Like, you have to perform at JGR. So from that standpoint, it is different because everywhere else, there’s really not been that expectation."

After four full-time seasons with Stewart-Haas Racing, Briscoe had to depart from the Ford roster as Tony Stewart and Gene Haas announced the departure of the Cup team from NASCAR earlier this season. However, as the season progressed, the Indiana native was the first on the list out of the four SHR drivers to secure a Cup ride with one of the top organizations in NASCAR.

Briscoe also iterated how there was less of an expectation in the SHR roster to win, which has changed, as with Coach Gibbs he's 'expected to be upfront' every weekend.

"It's been very eye-opening"- Chase Briscoe shares his first-hand experience with Joe Gibbs Racing

In a conversation with Frontstretch, Chase Briscoe shared his thoughts after spending a day under the Joe Gibbs Racing shed ahead of the NASCAR Awards banquet. He said:

"Being able to see a little bit on the inside, it's definitely been intense. Like it's been very eye opening, [0:30]
"I've only been there one day... probably spent four or five hours there. And kind of now, till the first week of December, I won't be back over there. So then I'll do four days in a row with sim. It'll be picking up quite a bit in the first two weeks of December. But yeah, it's been really good, " Briscoe added.

As far as the 2024 NASCAR season was concerned, Chase Briscoe pulled a stunning win in the final race of the regular season and earned a playoff spot for SHR in the team's final NASCAR season. However, he fell out of contention in the Round of 16 and ended the season with one win, three top-five, and nine top-10 finishes.
