Zane Smith's wife, McCall, has made her feelings known about time spent with family on Thanksgiving. McCall said she enjoyed her stay in Florida with her husband and the Gaulding family, expressing gratitude on social media.
Smith is a 25-year-old professional stock car racing driver who recently concluded his rookie season in the NASCAR Cup Series. The Californian got married to McCall before the 2024 season started where he drove the No. 71 Chevrolet Camaro for Spire Motorsports.
In an Instagram post, McCall shared photos of her Thanksgiving celebration with the family at Fort Myers Beach in Florida.
"Had a great few days with the family for [Thanksgiving]! Forever thankful for them," McCall wrote.
Moreover, McCall dedicated an Instagram story for her husband where Zane Smith was piloting their boat. She wrote:
"Love this life with you."
The couple's pet dogs, Kygo and Roxy, joined them for the holiday celebration. Kygo is a French bulldog, while Roxy is a golden retriever.
While Zane Smith enjoys his NASCAR off-season, the driver has yet to find a seat for 2025. His rookie season witnessed him scoring two top-5 and four top-10 finishes.
His best finish was recorded at Nashville Superspeedway where Smith finished second following five overtime restarts. McCall recently shared that the Ally 400 race at Nashville was her favorite moment of the season.
For the 2025 season, Smith will be replaced by Michael McDowell in Spire Motorsports. He is a favorite to land the seat on Front Row Motorsports' newly-acquired charter from Stewart-Haas Racing. However, the announcement could take some time considering the FRM, along with 23XI Racing, is in an ongoing lawsuit battle against NASCAR.
Zane Smith's wife McCall shares her thoughts on Nashville race
Despite coming short of the win, McCall Smith expressed how proud she was of Zane Smith in the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway. She described it as a special moment considering they were, in her own words, in one of their lowest coming to the race.
In a now-expired Instagram story, McCall shared:
"Mine has to be Nashville where Zane almost won his first Cup race! You go through some low times in this sport and we were definitely at one of our lowest until this moment. Watching this weekend be the pivotal point in his season was special!"
She added:
"Always so proud of Zane, what he does on the track but most importantly, off. No matter what he has going on behind the scenes, he is still going to be Zane, work his a** off and be the best human he can be."
During the closing laps of the race, Zane Smith was running outside the top 20 when Austin Cindric slid to the infield to bring out the caution. It started a series of overtime restarts until Smith passed Tyler Reddick on the final lap to take P2 behind Joey Logano.
The Ally 400 was Smith's best finish in the season followed by the Watkins Glen playoff race where he crossed the checkered flag in P5.
