NASCAR driver Zane Smith's wife McCall shared pictures from their vacation to the Caribbean islands to celebrate their first wedding anniversary ahead of the 2025 Cup Series season, which starts next month.
The couple got married in January last year after being together since their teens. They recently flew from St. Barts to Anguilla via a charter plane ride between the two islands, which gave them stunning views of the beautiful Caribbean. McCall, who is a former dancer, shared pictures from up in the air in a series of stories on Instagram, where she has over 12,000 followers.
McCall had teased their first wedding anniversary trip ahead of time and they first visited the French-speaking island St. Barts, which is popular for its beaches, harbors filled with yachts and historic spots like Wall House and Fort Karl.
Smith will compete in his second full-time season in the NASCAR Cup Series with Front Row Motorsports this season.
The 24-year-old had a tough 2024 season after he was fired from Spire Motorsports. However, he was offered a second chance with Front Row Motorsports for this season in the No. 38 Ford Mustang.
"I’ve always felt at home with Front Row Motorsports. They believed in me when I signed with them to race in the Truck Series initially in 2022 and we shared so much success together, winning six races and a championship in two seasons. Unfortunately, everyone had to make tough decisions because there were only two Cup cars available at Front Row Motorsports going into last season when I was ready to move up full-time,” Smith said (via Forbes).
Smith won the 2022 Truck Series championship with Front Row Motorsports before making his Cup Series debut with RFK Racing.
"Some scary stuff back home" - California native Zane Smith writes for safety of those affected by wildfires
Southern California started to experience its worst winter fires last Tuesday with the Los Angeles area still battling many fires. The fires have burned over 40,000 acres, taken the lives of at least 24 people and over 150,000 people have had to leave their homes so far.
Zane Smith, the Huntington Beach, California native shared his thoughts for the people affected by the disaster last Thrusday and wrote:
"Some scary stuff back home. Thinking about everyone affected by the SOCAL fires. Stay safe 🙏"
Strong winds, up to 70 mph, with no winter rains this year created perfect conditions for fast-spreading flames.
The NASCAR season will begin with the Cook Out Clash in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on February 12, followed by the first points of the year at Daytona 500 on February 16.
