2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Daniel Saurez has tied the knot with his fiance Julia Piquet in Brazil. The 32-year-old Cup Series racer shared a picture from this special moment in his life on social media.
Julia is the daughter of the legendary Formula 1 triple-world champion Nelson Piquet. She is an Instagram influencer and certified integrative nutrition health coach. She also maintains a separate Instagram account dedicated to her beloved 1966 Porsche 912 sports car.
The now-married couple began dating in 2012. Julia has practically become a regular sight at NASCAR trackside locations since then, particularly in the vicinity of the Trackhouse Racing Team's pit. After dating for almost 10 years, Saurez proposed to Piquet in 2022, during their vacation in France and Monaco.
Having been part of a racing family since childhood, Piquet is well aware of the intense demands of motorsport and has been supporting her fiance through the ups and downs of his career in the past few years. After being in a relationship for around 12 years, the couple recently decided to tie the knot. The wedding took place in Piquet's hometown in Brazil.
The wedding was attended by 160 guests, including the couple's parents and a star-studded crowd. Julia’s family, consisting of siblings Nelson Piquet Jr. and Kelly Piquet, as well as stepbrothers Geraldo, Pedro, and Laszlo Piquet, were present. The guest list also featured celebrities, such as former race car driver and renowned NASCAR analyst Mamba Smith.
The Mexico-based driver has shared a picture of the unforgettable moment via a post on X. Here's a look at the post, captioned:
