Busch ranks ninth in the most wins table in the Cup Series, just one spot behind Dale Earnhardt Jr. The #6 driver began his Cup Series career at the UAW-Daimler Chrysler 400 held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2004. Busch hasn't missed out on any of the NASCAR playoffs any year apart from 2024.

Richard Childress and Kyle Busch's decade-old infamous brawl

Richard Childress and Kyle Busch got involved in a physical confrontation after the Truck Series race at the Kansas Speedway back in 2011. NASCAR fined Childress a hefty amount of $150,000 after he lost his cool when Busch bumped into RCR driver Joey Coulter during a cool-down lap for battling too hard in the race. As a result, Childress punched Busch after putting him in a headlock during the 2011 O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 race.

A few days after the incident, the owner of RCR accepted the penalty, but he didn't apologize to the latter for his actions and said:

"First of all, I'm responsible for my actions, plain and simple. As you know, I am a very principled person and have a passion for what we do at Richard Childress Racing. I believe passionately in defending my race teams and my sponsor partners. In this instance, I let that passion and my emotions get the best of me." (via Jackonville.com)

The penalty included probation from the track, and only limited movement was allowed. Also, he was prohibited from going near the Cup Series driver Kyle Busch. Childress added:

"I accept the penalty NASCAR announced today and, as a company, we will now focus on this week's races at Pocono Raceway and Texas Motor Speedway."

Childress and Kyle Busch worked on their differences and moved forward in life. Now the two-time champion races for Richard Childress Racing in the Cup Series.
