Dale Earnhardt Jr., who will cover NASCAR races for Amazon Prime Video next year, recently talked about his relationship with Adam Alexander.

Alexander has worked for multiple NASCAR series at FOX Sports for almost 20 years and will join Steve Letarte and Earnhardt Jr. on Prime Video, starting with the Coca-Cola 600 on May 25, 2025. In a recent live on YouTube, Dale Jr. praised Alexander for his support in the past.

"When I started broadcasting... outside of the NBC family, Adam was really one of the few people who constantly texted me, just saying nice things and being supportive, for no reason other than because he's a good guy. Before that, I really had no real relationship with the dude, so that just speaks to his character," Dale Earnhardt Jr. said (01:41).

Earnhardt Jr. previously worked as an analyst with NBC Sports for six years. Now, the 50-year-old will commentate for TNT and Prime Video.

He also stressed how important it is to enjoy working with the broadcasting team during the long weekend races.

"I don’t want to broadcast with people I don’t enjoy being around. I don’t want to do anything in life around people I don’t enjoy being around. In a broadcast booth, you're really close in proximity throughout the entire weekend with those individuals. So absolutely, I want those relationships to be great," he added (02:43).

Dale Jr. was named the NASCAR Most Popular Driver 15 times during his Cup Series career which ended after the 2017 season.

"The car was good but not great" - Dale Earnhardt Jr. on qualifying struggles at Florence

Dale Earnhardt Jr. raced the iconic No. 8 Budweiser car after over 15 years at Florence Motor Speedway last weekend. He started the race in 40th place after a tough qualifying but moved up to second.

In an episode of his Dale Jr. Download podcast, he talked about his difficulties qualifying for the South Carolina 400 and the adjustment that made the car better.

"Honestly, the thing that really brought my car to life was not found until probably the last 30 minutes of the final practice when they made an adjustment on the front end... The car was good but not great and man, when we made that adjustment, it turned into a great racecar. I had all that perfect turn and wrap all through the race," Dale Earnhardt Jr. said (05:06, 06:21).

Earnhardt moved up to second but had to end the race early due to a fuel pump problem and officially finished in 28th place.
