“It keeps him in the home”: Amy Earnhardt discloses her secret delight in husband Dale Jr.’s hobby

Dale Earnhardt Jr’s wife, Amy has revealed a secret delight in her husband’s video game hobby. Mrs Earnhardt jokingly explained that playing video games keeps Junior at home, preventing him from wandering on the “streets.”

The NASCAR off-season is halfway through, and Dale Jr’s Dirty Mo Media is back with another silly season episode. This time, however, Amy also graced the podcast with her presence, answering several fans’ queries.

One fan sought an answer from Amy about convincing his wife to let him play video games. The two-time Xfinity Series champion's wife responded and emphasized having an agreement about personal time and maintaining an optimal balance.

She elaborated, saying:

“Dale plays while I’m sleeping. You have to have an agreement about personal time. It just depends on what their life is like, you need to pay attention to her needs and if she wants to be able to go to work out or have a hobby of her own. There needs to just be balance in that but I don’t think that there’s any issue,” Amy said (1:45).

Dale Jr’s wife then revealed her secret delight in letting her husband play video games. She added:

“I make fun of the video game thing, like it keeps him off the street so I’m not so mad about it but he does it while I’m sleepy…It keeps him in the home, even before we ever got married and had kids, I was like at least he’s not on the street.”

Junior expressed that communicating about a new game release to his wife was a Herculean task, even though Amy said she didn’t care about the details.

Dale Jr met Amy for the first time in 2009 when he hired her as the interior designer for his Kannapolis residence. Their relationship stayed under wraps until the NASCAR Championship Week Awards Banquet in December 2011. Since then, the couple has birthed two beautiful kids, Isla and Nicole.

Thus, with over a decade together, the husband and wife have learned to adjust and accommodate for their other half. However, Amy pulled back the curtain about Junior’s one habit that enraged her.

She revealed that whenever Dale Jr gets hooked on a particular music, it becomes his go-to song in the truck. But what makes her “claw someone’s face off” is the heavy rock music playing early in the morning. Amy mentioned she liked the heavy metal genre but wasn’t fond of listening to it first thing in the morning.

"Here's the thing, when he's falling in love with a new song it's literally on repeat. Every time you're in the truck it's the first song that comes on, I'm like, 'Come on man. We don't have to listen to this today.' Or, here's the other thing about Dale. He'll turn on heavy rock or something like that when he first wakes up and that's for me, that'll send me into a rage and that's going to dictate how I'm going to act all day long. "He's like, 'Yeah let's go. It's Tuesday.' And I'm like, 'I'm going to claw someone's face off. Turn that shit off!" Amy said (via Dirty Mo Media (6:11)).

Dale Jr. revealed pop punk, alternative 90s music, and other similar genres make up nearly 90% of his daily dose of music.
