During the Great American Getaway 400 race at the Pocono Raceway, Kyle Busch suffered the fifth DNF of his last seven races in the Cup Series. After a restart on Lap 121, #8 Busch was bumped in the rear by Corey LaJoie, resulting in a multi-car wreck.
Two-time Cup Series champion Busch is currently in the worst stretch of his career. The 39-year-old is in danger of missing the upcoming NASCAR playoffs. Coming into Pocono, Busch was already on a 41-race winless streak, and the recent DNF has added more misery to the #8 Chevy driver's 2024 NASCAR campaign.
In a post-race interaction, Fox Sports' Bob Pockrass asked Rowdy Busch to address the situation.
"It doesn't matter what I think," Busch said in response.
Pockrass then continued the conversation by asking Busch if he was aware of #7 LaJoie making a move on him or if that contact surprised him.
"Of course, you have mirrors and cameras and everything else. So you try to get in front of the run that's coming and I was trying to get in front of that run and sometimes, some don't lift," Busch said.
Here's a look at the multi-car collision on the Trick Triangle:
On Turn 1, Spire Motorsports driver Corey LaJoie instigated the wreck by making contact with Richard Childress Racing's Kyle Busch, sending Busch's car into a slide. Busch slid into the grass and back onto the track, collecting #41 Ryan Preece in the process and ending Preece's race. The collision also collected drivers like Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Carson Hocevar, Austin Cindric, AJ Allmendinger, and Harrison Burton.
