NASCAR Cup Series driver Chase Briscoe is set to drive the No. 19 Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) in 2025. He recently talked about his first experiences with the team and called the transition "intense" but "good."

Stewart Haas Racing announced it would shut down after the season in May and JGR confirmed Briscoe will replace Martin Truex Jr. in June. After four years at Stewart-Haas Racing, the 29-year-old is adjusting to a new environment at JGR.

"Being able to see a little bit on the inside, it's definitely been intense. Like it's been very eye opening," Chase Briscoe said via Frontstretch. (00:30)

He further talked about visiting the team for one day after the Phoenix race on November 10 to work on seat adjustments.

"I've only been there one day... probably spent four or five hours there. And kind of now, till the first week of December, I won't be back over there. So then I'll do four days in a row with sim. It'll be picking up quite a bit in the first two weeks of December. But yeah, it's been really good, " he added.

Briscoe ended the 2024 season 14th in the final standings. He had one win at the Southern 500 this year and ended a 73-race winless streak.

"I’m definitely one of those guys who tries to build relationships with my team" - Chase Briscoe on team building

During the same media interaction, Chase Briscoe talked about how living in North Carolina would make it easier for him to connect with the team.

When asked if he would spend a lot of time at the race shop, Briscoe responded:

"Yeah, for sure. I mean, it gets a little trickier now that I have three kids, right? But I still go, even at SHR, I'm there at least once a week, sometimes twice a week. So, I’m involved. I don’t know what my JGR week will look like yet as far as debriefs and sim stuff, but it is a little easier because I live in North Carolina." (04:21)

He also mentioned that Martin Truex Jr. had not used the simulator in the past few years.

"I feel like I’m definitely one of those guys who tries to build relationships with my team. I even told my wife already, like, 'Look, in December and January, I’m going to be at the shop a lot,' just trying to get that communication with them." (05:02)

Chase Briscoe is married to Marissa. They are parents to a three-year-old son and recently welcomed twins, a boy and a girl.
