Christopher Bell is excited about teaming up again with his old friend and former teammate, Chase Briscoe. Recently, while talking to Dale Earnhardt Jr. on his podcast, Bell had high praise for the #14 Stewart-Haas Racing driver, recognizing him as a hard worker and a great fit for the Joe Gibbs Racing team.
On the track at the USA Today 301 in New Hampshire, Christopher Bell and Briscoe showed their competitive spirit, finishing P1 and P2, respectively, after a challenging race on a wet track. Off the track, their friendship runs deep. In fact, it was Bell who gave Briscoe the heads-up about a potential spot opening up on the team, way before it became public knowledge that Martin Truex Jr. was planning to retire.
Recently, during a discussion on The Dale Jr. Download, Dale Earnhardt Jr. inquired about Bell's thoughts on Briscoe joining the team. Bell shared that the two have a deep-rooted connection.
"I think we're literally a day apart in age too. So we grew up through the same stuff. He grew up in Indiana, I grew up in Oklahoma, but we're both dirt track racing. I think it's going to be fun to be reunited with him. I've been teammates with him on the dirt track stuff between Sprint cars and Micro Sprint and all that stuff," Christopher Bell said via X on The Dale Jr. Download.
Christopher Bell elaborated on his relationship with Chase Briscoe, reflecting on their paths to NASCAR. Bell highlighted how their careers initially diverged, with Briscoe aligning with Ford and himself with Toyota, positioning them as competitors.
"And it's gonna be nice to be reunited on the same team. I think he's a very... hard working person and you know he puts in a lot of effort. into his team and to his organization. So, I think he'll be a good addition to the-- the JGR camp," Bell added.
Christopher Bell announced the official inclusion of Chase Briscoe
Christopher Bell, the #20 driver for Joe Gibbs Racing, made a significant slip-up when he accidentally mentioned 'Chase's' name without completing it, just ahead of the formal announcement. To set things right, during the official announcement on Tuesday, Bell himself introduced Chase Briscoe as the new #19 driver for 2025.
Initially, Christopher Bell was featured in a teaser about the #19 driver’s announcement, and subsequently, he hosted Briscoe's official reveal. He said: [via NASCAR.com]
"Since I made the mistake of starting this on Friday. I guess I'll get to finish it out today. So, we've got our team owner Joe Gibbs, crew chief on the number #19 car- James Small. And it is my honor to finally announce the full name of of our driver next year, Chase Briscoe, in the 19th car."
It would be interesting to see two dirt track teammates back to being on the same side.
