Veteran NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick assessed how Connor Zilisch could help benefit JR Motorsports the most. He was recently signed by the team as the driver for their #88 Chevrolet for the 2025 Xfinity Series season.
Zilisch currently takes part in the ARCA Menards Series East and West and has bagged multiple wins, making him a strong contender for the season. Furthermore, he managed to finish P4 in his debut Truck Series race at COTA earlier this season.
Talking about Zilisch's move to Xfinity, former NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick mentioned that it can sometimes "get harder," referring to his latest Truck Series race at Richmond. However, he feels that the team could benefit from him because of his raw driving talent.

"As we saw in the truck race this week, you know, it's going to get harder," Harvick said on his namesake podcast (at 0:20). "But Connor is a great talent. Now it's going to be that next step of competition always comes with, okay, I can drive fast, but now how do I communicate with my team in order to let them understand what they need in a car to help direct the car to be as fast as it can."
"So, I think with Trackhouse having Connor Zilisch, I mean, they have struck gold. And I think for them, they have a talent that is something that you can't teach. He's just got this natural ability to go out there and drive."
Zilisch was running within the top 10 with 20 laps to go at Richmond during the latest Truck Series race. However, he had a wreck and DNFed in the race.

The 18-year-old has made a huge step in his racing career after signing for the Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports. It is evident from his performances that he can keep up with the competition that he would face in the championship.
Speaking about his signing, Connor Zilisch labeled it the "opportunity of a lifetime" to race with JRM.
"It's going to be big for me. This is a lifetime of an opportunity to come here and race at JRM," Connor Zilisch said (at 0:25) "Many guys in the Cup Series have gone through this building and it's going to be an honor to drive for Dale and everyone at JR Motorsports."
