“It still makes me tear”: NASCAR champion Joey Logano makes his emotions known about wife Brittany’s gesture

The 2024 Cup Series champion Joey Logano was featured in a post-race interview after winning his third championship title at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Ch. 90 and shared how special it was to celebrate his win with his wife Brittany Baca.

Logano highlighted that his wife was by his side through tough times, and when she walked up to him to celebrate on the victory lane, he was overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude. He mentioned that the moment still makes him tear up a little bit because it reminds him of the unwavering support his wife has given him during the hardest times.

"It's so special just to deal with the people you love, about you love, and you care about this whole team, my family, everybody's here, so just makes it so special that moment my wife walked up to me, it just still makes me tear up a little bit. It's just so you try so hard, it grinds rough," stated Joey Logano. [00:48]

The #22 driver further mentioned that when one cares deeply about the sport, it mentally drains them, and in his case, Brittany often bore his mental toll. He added:

"You know, sports are hard, you know, especially at this level; you don't win every one of them. You lose the majority of them. And when you care about it that much, it's just tough. And my wife takes the brunt of it more times than not. So to celebrate with her is really special for me." [01:10]

Logano won his third title after a two-year hiatus and marked Team Penske's dominance in the sport with his win. This is Team Penske's third championship win in a row since 2022.

Logano married his childhood girlfriend Brittany Baca on December 13, 2014, and has been blessed with three children. Being a father of three and a husband while racing across the country has its fair share of troubles, and the Cup Series driver has done a remarkable job holding all the things together.

"I go racing, I go to work the things that matter and then I go home and do the things that matter. That's just being with my family. Just be with kids, be a dad, be a good husband...now I got a fantastic wife." Joey Logano said. (21:07)

"Your wife is the most important decision you ever make in your life, is who you marry yes it is and cuz that person especially in our way we live she's raising her kids by herself a lot of times so when I'm home it's 100% of the times with them," Logano added at (21:29).

Joey Logano believes that spending time with your family when not racing is the "most important thing" and a key to maintaining a good relationship with them.
