After picking up a top-10 at Homestead-Miami Speedway today, Justin Allgaier now looks forward to next week's race at Martinsville Speedway. In an interview with journalist Bob Pockrass, the JR Motorsports driver shed light on what he expects from the Virginian short-track.
Justin Allgaier drives the No. 7 Chevrolet for JR Motorsports (pronounced Junior Motorsports), an Xfinity Series team owned by NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr., his sister Kelley Earnhardt Miller, and Rick Hendrick of Hendrick Motorsports. He is a 25-time winner in the series, with his most recent victory coming at Michigan International Speedway in August 2024.
Today, Allgaier stands atop the leaderboard and is one of the top seeds for the Championship race at Phoenix on November 10. However, he has to go through Martinsville before that.
"It wouldn't surprise me if somebody gets wrecked on lap 1; that's just the way Martinsville goes," Justin Allgaier told Pockrass. "I hope it's not me... but I've been blessed to do this for a long time and in that long time my grey hair has come from knowing that the only thing certain is uncertainty. So we are going to Martinsville, we'll have some fun and see what happens." (2:00)
In 31 starts this year, Allgaier amassed two wins, eight top-5s and eighteen top-10s. He has led a combined 705 laps so far and bagged 16 stage wins. JR Motorsports has recently signed a contract extension with the 38-year-old driver.
Justin Allgaier "honored" to continue driving for JR Motorsports
Justin Allgaier felt honored after JR Motorsports signed a multi-year contract extension with him that will keep him behind the wheel of the #7 in 2025 and 2026. Allgaier's longtime partner BRANDT Professional Agriculture will join him as the primary sponsor for 20 races throughout these two seasons. Allgaier said (via Toby Christie).
"It feels great to be returning to JRM and to continue our partnership with BRANDT Professional Agriculture. BRANDT has played such an integral part in my career and I am extremely proud of everything that we have accomplished thus far together."
Since his debut Xfinity season with JR Motorsports (2016), Allgaier has qualified for the playoffs every year and made the Championship 4 in six of the last eight seasons.
"I’m honored to be able to continue to drive this No. 7 Chevrolet for Dale (Earnhardt Jr.) and Kelley and compete for race wins and championships. Hopefully we can get this renewal jump started on a strong note and finish off these playoffs in the best way possible," he added.
Fans can tune in to CW to watch Allgaier in action next week (November 2) at Martinsville from 4 PM ET onwards. Live radio updates for the same will be available on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
