Kenny Wallace has shared a series of images, showcasing the horrific crash that occurred on the Eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 at Ward Road, Colorado. The former NASCAR driver wasn't involved in the mishap but mentioned he "couldn't believe his eyes" upon seeing the extent of the damage.

On Thursday, at 8:20 AM EST, a semi-trailer rolled over on the Interstate, and a multi-car pileup also ensued. The trailer was hauling big blue pipes which got spilled onto the lanes of the I-70. A car driving westbound collided with debris, claiming three lives- a newlywed couple and the mother of the woman. Three people including the semi-driver were injured. A total of seven vehicles got involved in the wreck.

The exact cause of the crash is being investigated but, as reported by The Denver Post, "at some point during the traffic event," the semi lost its balance and the debris was all over the westbound highway.

Kenny Wallace was at the site when the tragedy occurred but wasn't involved. He shared the details about the incident and wrote (via X).

"I was lucky I was not involved. There was a wreck eastbound on 70 towards Indianapolis at Maple Grove Illinois that had everyone stopped. We came over the hill and tractor trailers started ramming into small cars that were parked dead stopped. IT WAS VIOLENT AND HORRIBLE I could not believe my eyes. All sides of the interstate are shut down as you can see in the 4 pictures," Wallace wrote via X.

"Glad you're safe"- Fans react to Kenny Wallace's crash update

The horrific crash has already gained widespread media attention and Kenny Wallace's social media update quickly attracted the community's attention. Upon learning the former driver wasn't involved and was safe, fans expressed their caring gesture towards the former Cup Series driver in the comments section.

"That's one of, if not the most, dangerous situations to face on the interstate. Glad you're ok, and prayers to those involved," one fan wrote.
"That’s an incredibly dangerous stretch of highway there. Not many lanes and LOTS of semi’s. I’m always on edge when I’m driving it. Glad you are ok, Kenny," added another fan.
"Shit!! Glad you’re ok!" one fan commented.
"Damn, glad you're alright Herminator," one fan wrote.
"Be safe Herm," another fan commented.

Some fans called Kenny Wallace 'Herm' or 'Herminator.' His father, Russell Wallace, won many races, and, as a result, he wasn't liked by the promoter of the Lake Hill Speedway, Bob Mueller. However, the son wasn't pleased with their attitude towards Wallace Sr., and, because of his rebellious take, Mueller nicknamed the 9x Xfinity Series race winner, 'Herman the German.'
