FOX Sports recently released the promo for NASCAR's highly anticipated season opener, the 2025 Daytona 500. This promo comes shortly after FOX released another promo for the NTT IndyCar Series, which received heaps of praise from enthusiastic motorsport fans. However, several fans have shared their criticism of the new Daytona 500 commercial, some outlining differences between the two.
FOX Sports released a well-crafted commercial for promoting the IndyCar Series, which begins on March 2 with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. The promo features two-time IndyCar Series champion Josef Newgarden and three-time NFL Most Valuable Player Tom Brady.
Meanwhile, the 30-second Daytona 500 teaser features reigning champion Joey Logano with snippets of four-time Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon and NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt.
After watching the promo, many enthusiastic fans shared their reactions on X:
"This is great in a vacuum but up against the @IndyCarOnFOX ad it’s just embarrassing" a fan wrote
"The Logano Glazing Needs To Stop" a fan commented
"This has me ready to run through a brick wall…" a fan wrote
"Why is Jeff Gordon on there? He isn't racing. Put someone other than Joey junk it." another fan wrote
"This is f***ing pathetic @NASCAR y’all saw the Indycar commercial with fox and think this is good enough to broadcast your biggest race" a fan expressed
Meanwhile, one particular fan inquired about the presence of former NASCAR driver Mike Wallace in the Daytona 500.
"What about @mikewallace ????? Think I will go do something else!!" the fan asked
While there was speculation about Wallace coming back to the Daytona Beach facility, It was recently revealed that the NASCAR VP of Competition, Elton Sawyer, did not permit former Cup Series champion Rusty Wallace's younger brother to compete in the 2025 NASCAR season.
Meanwhile, the Cup Series is set to return to the Bowman Gray Stadium for the pre-season Clash on February 2 at 8:00 PM Eastern time. While the pre-race inspection will take place at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the atmosphere at the Winston-Salem facility will be electric.
“Little frustrating”: Bubba Wallace’s prodigy unhappy with NASCAR broadcaster amid IndyCar’s off-season campaign
NASCAR rising star Rajah Caruth, mentored by Bubba Wallace, recently criticized FOX Sports for their focus on the NTT IndyCar Series in their latest commercial. Wallace has been a key figure in Caruth’s career, playing a crucial role in his growth and development in the sport.
After watching the solid IndyCar commercial, Caruth, who pilots the #71 Chevrolet Silverado for Spire Motorsports, expressed his frustration with FOX for not promoting stock car racing enough.
"I haven’t seen any NASCAR ads lol. Little frustrating to say the least" the Truck Series driver wrote
However, FOX did release a promo for the fast-approaching Daytona 500 which eventually received mixed reactions from the NASCAR community.
The Daytona 500 is scheduled to run on February 16 at 2:30 PM Eastern time. Tune in to witness the historic event on FOX, MRN, and SiriusXM.
